"The villas were set in idyllic bush surroundings. Everything felt new and clean. Only criticism is that the beds were uncomfortable; plastic covers, middle bump down the bed, the whole bed moved when you moved and very, very firm!" - Anonymous

"The decor and room amenities need updating. The pelmet on the blind on the stairs was broken and left on the stairs. The door to the balcony was broken and couldn't be opened easily. The carpet was stained. The room has a kitchenette but no utensils etc. Also the TV is an old analogue tv with grainy reception. It is not really good enough for a supposed 5 star hotel. "They were very late in checking us in and still cleaning the room when they finally let us in which was disappointing. | Getting there: |
- From the centre of SydneyTravel north along National 1 (F3) freeway towards Newcastle (approximately 1 hour)
- Turn off the (F3) freeway at Cessnock/Kurri Kurri exit and proceed to Cessnock
- As you enter Cessnock along Aberdare Road, turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto Vincent Street (following the signs to Branxton). Proceed to the end of Vincent Street. Turn left at traffic lights onto Wollombi Road and then first right at the traffic lights onto Allandale Road, passing swimming pool on the left and McDonalds Restaurant on the right.
- Proceed along Allandale Road and you will pass the Cessnock Airport on the left-hand side.
Turn left 500 metres past Airport into Broke Road.
- Follow Broke Road for approximately 3 Kilometres to the "T" intersection. Turn left at the "T" intersection onto McDonalds Road. Remain on this road, and you will find Cypress Lakes Resort (Thompsons Road) on your right hand side (after Brokenwood and Tamburlaine Wineries) |
