De France Hotel Vienna

We stayed one night in the hotel and had a favorable experience. The location was walking distance to Stephansplatz, with Christmas markets in between. A metro stop is virtually right outside the front door. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and extremely clean. The included breakfast had a large variety of foods available, and the staff was attentive to our need for coffee!

Very good location, close to Schottentor station - only a few yards walk. Central to all tourist attractions. A most pleasant stay. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment. Decor is traditional - lots of marble everywhere! Our room was a good size, clean, with a reception area and the bathroom had everything required (including a bath and two basins). Minibar was free - beers as well as soft drink and water. Wireless internet included in rate. Staff informative and friendly. Breakfast buffet extensive - hot and cold dishes. There are also a couple of restaurants. No view (courtyard) was dealt with etched glass and drapes. Overall, very good value considering the location.

An up-market hotel on the edge of Vienna's old town. Standard rooms, billed as "superior" are smallish with windows that open inwards to the service area, but the amenities - the confortable beds, bed-linen, bathroom fittings etc - are top rate. Plus, a free mini-bar s with mineral water, soft drinks and a couple of beers per day. Front desk service is sparkling - I had restaurants recommended and booked, change for cabs provided when I'd run out of cash at the front door, airport transfers organised, all like clockwork. The rack rates are a bit high, but having booked it because is was a Hotel Club special deal, it turned out good value. Also, on a return visit, was upgraded to a suite for no extra cost as the hotel was full, and got to the live the rock star life for one night at least. The nice thing was, the guy at the front desk didn't act condescending about it, he seemed as pleased as I was. A very nice place to stay, especially if you can get a discount on their regular rates.

Excellent house, well managed. Only too expensive for breakfast (but delicious).

We need cooling air-conditioner in the room. Although it was mid April when we stayed there, the indoor temperature was quite high and we could hardly breathe. With windows open does help the ventilation but the noise from outside was a nuisance.

Excellent hotel in a very central location and also underground station right outside front door. the staff were very helpful and rooms spacious and clean.

Excellent location near Rathaus, very quiet room, superb breakfast.

Great location, 5/10 min walk to the main ring road and palace. Public tansport if you want it. Rooms good size and clean not glamorous though. Foyer and restaurants very stylish. Would stay again. Some of the better tour companies use this hotel on their European routes, which means a certain standard is kept.

Hotel looks great, but the room we got was quite small, Great central location. A nice, comfortable large hotel. Service good, though a little impersonal. Would use again though.

Excellent location, very clean rooms, staff friendly. Only negative point was the price of some add on services - in particular in house bar. Expensive even by Vienna standards. All in all, a good hotel in a good location and I would certainly stay again if I return to Vienna.

Staff very, very helpful, hotel facilities are average but close by you have all facilities, well worth the price paid. Located at one of the best places for a "city-break".

A very nice hotel of high 4 star low 5 star quality. Good location and nice breakfast; a very competent hotel at a good price. Not the over the top 5 star experience, but very good none the less, especially given the value.

Very good hotel for the price we paid. I only missed possebilities to communicate over the internet in room or lobby. Business Centre is a must these days.
