First of all i would take this time to say the staff were excellent. We were given a room which was basic but functional. However the shower did not work and were given another room. This was of a good size and really nice. I would recommend if you were in Chester for a break.
Room stank of disinfectant on arrival. Evening meal was dire. Stay if you need somewhere cheap(ish) in Chester, but don't eat there!
Proof of you get what you pay for. Perfect if you just need somewhere to sleep, and great location, 10 minutes walk from the city centre, but not somewhere to go for a long stay.
I stayed in this hotel, with my family, for a weekend break. We found our triple room to be spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town but close enough to walk to both town and railway station. There is also a local high street in Hoole which is within easy walking distance. I would recommend this hotel.
I booked two rooms, and one was pretty good, the only drawback being a dirty spot on the wall. the second room, however, had a faulty light, a broken window handle (so you could not lock it - and the room was on the ground floor), and two packs of margerine and butter, half-eaten, in the chest of draws. There were no tea spoons either. In the room upstairs somebody was moving furniture in the middle of the night, and for a long time, so my friends had no sleep. The staff were friendly. Breakfast, though rather on the cold side (as usual in hotels, to be fair), was good. The dinner was excellent. And the location is great - about 10 min. walk to the centre. Finding it was easy as well, and the car park is spacious.
this hotel is looking very tired and worn out.it is in need of a complete overhaul. breakfast would benefit from being self service.the pot of tea was not drinkable.
The hotel is in an excellent location for the city. The rooms were good and clean. The service by most staff was very good but there was one member of staff who was quite offhand and looked down her nose at us a bit. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend the hotel to others.
One of the twin beds was old/uncomfortable (you could feel the round shape of every spring). The manager changed it after we complained. The hotel reception were very helpful. The restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly.
Not enough variety in the dinner menu which was the same each evening. The presentation of the food was good, the quality average. We would have preferred it the other way round, consequently only ate there only one evening having found a pleasant pub within 5 minutes drive with excellent food and much cheaper. Situated on one of the main roads into Chester, with adequate parking and being situated some 20 minutes walk from the city centre we would use it again, but would probably dine out.
Fairly basic bar, restuarant and accomodation but effiecient check-in and check-out procedures. A decent English breakfast although service could be sharpened up e.g. the buffet table not having bowls cereal for or glasses for juices. Overall good value basic accomodation with plenty of car parking, in a good location a 10 minute cab ride or 30 minute walk from the heart of Chester.
Decent & easy access to car park. Some rooms motel style. As my wife disabled, was given choise of 3 rooms to inspect for suitability ! Only fault I would say was no remote for tv.only stayed 1 night so not much noted, ample tea/coffee in room & towels & shower gels. As prebooked evening meal through [your website] this somewhat limited choice from menu, but food was excellent for what paid!Would recommend for cheap & decent overnight stays,
Okay for somewhere to put your head down - very simple. The manager is very helpful. Did find the room staff poor as had a bar meal one evening and left my tray outside the door it took nearly 48hrs before someone removed it.
The hotel is in good location for city center and for the train station approx 15 minutes walk. the bedroom was more than adequate and service was good. would stay there again.
We were greated in reception with a friendly smile. Signing in was simple and quick. Our room overlooked the bowling green located at the back of the hotel; lovely. The room was spacious and decorated to a very high standard. Hairdryers are provided by the hotel, only you have to go to reception for it. The location couldn't be better, it cost us £3.50 in a taxi to Chester, and Chester Zoo is only round the corner. Overall I would definetly recommend this hotel, and will stay again when visiting Chester.
Hotel could do with a no smoking policy as the amount of smoke everywhere spoiled my stay at the hotel. otherwise not too bad
The hotel was very good quality. Food and rooms were good.
We found nothing to fault this hotel and would certainly recomend it to anyone and would use it again.
Breakfast was good.
As it was my first time staying there i was suitably impressed by the bathroom facilities.
Delighted with this hotel, good location, good sized room, excellent service and delicious breakfast.
