Derby Hotel Florence

The sheets are old and the bathroom could use some serious updating. Hpwever the staff were very polite and helpful.

Staff excellent, location excellent and price excellent!! Couldnt ask for more.

Great Hotel for the price. Very nice people working there. Very Helpful. They allowed us to leave an extra bag for the entire day after we checked out so we would not have to carry it around with us (our train departed in the evening). We actually stayed in their "annex" across the street from the main hotel, and it was very spacious. The only bad things I saw were useless A/C (relative to American A/C standards) and of course the small elevator, but I've seen smaller in Europe! Otherwise a nice place, very close to the heart of Florence.

Excellent service, lovely breakfast each morning! Not expensive at all, VERY close to all important locations! If you just need a place to store your stuff and to sleep at night, this place is PERFECT. Comfortable, clean, close, inexpensive, who could ask for more? I would HIGHLY recommend to ANYONE, unless you are claustrophobic, in which case you'll need to use the stairs, since the lift is VERY small. Otherwise, it was great!

Very good price for what the hotel offers!

we asked for 2 doubles and got 1 twin and 1 double but it didnt matter too much. the lift is terrible but thats not the hotels fault. room was in need of a paint job. Staff very helpful and friendly and great location but if you're staying longer than 2 nights i wouldnt reccommend it.

lift is very small,even 2 persons can get with bags.,staffs are very helpful & nice & breakfast was not that great,not much choice,but location is great.

Good location.Horrible lift.Very friendly staff, but on the day of my check-out I had asked to the guy at reception to call me at 9am, and he didn't. A/c is noisy, and so is the room. Room is under the average, looking old and careless. NO internet connection as promised.

Had booked 2 rooms& arrived later than expected to find entry to hotel closed, not realising it was 24hr reception... & we could've just pressed the buzzer!! Tiniest elevator ever to get up to hotel on the 5th floor especially with large suitcases. Management very helpful considering we also arrived with an extra guest. Rooms basic, but clean & tidy & all we required for our 2 night stay. Small buffet breakfast but certainly enough to start off your day with. Rooftop garden great view over the city. Good location & would stay here again

Probably not too good for a disabled person as reception on 5th floor served by a very antiquated lift or staircase. Service was good and staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgable and spoke good English.

Very near to the Santa Maria Novella station. Not a big hotel with many facilities but a good value for money with breakfast. Staff are kind and friendly. I would definitely stay there again. Be carefull with the Brown and Blue numbering system in Florence.

Very close to the central railway station, but the hotel was on 5th floor with a tiny old lift that wouldn't move if people forgot to close the lift doors manually. It's also quite noisy at night being close to the main street with a very small room and shower. The hair dryer was broken. However, the staff was really friendly and helpful. Towel was big and comfortable.

Rather average hotel by all criteria.

we were moved from the derby to one of their sister hotels, the second place was fine. the room was clean and basic for the price. Only problem was it was next to a busy street and you could hear all the noise. Also there was no blinds so it was quite alot of light in the room. Other than that no complaints

Everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. Facilities were faírly basic but quite adequate. It was clean and towels were changed daily without it being requested. We would however have liked a kettle in the room. We would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a convenient base only a very short distance from the old part of Florence and not seeking luxury.

My wife and me stayed at this hotel for 4 nigths. We where surprised over the micro elevator, but we was kindly positive surprised over the room and the location. Totally, we would like to come back. Nils Petter Bryde, Norway

very good location very close to the main bus and train station. walking distance to most major tourist sights. good service, person at reception desk very helpfully printed out a great map for me to use. clean, modest but adequate for a budget hotel, however bathroom and shower is amusingly small!

Very friendly staff, good location. Rooms bit cramped & need some fresh paint but very clean and very good value for the price.
