Des Artistes Hotel Rome

Hotel was very close to the metro so easy to get around. It had a questionable luggage storage on the ground floor which was not watched too vigilantly. Our room, on the 1st floor, was fine for one night. Except DO NOT open the closet, it smelled of rotten feet, leaving a lingering odor the entire night. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the central train station (5 blocks away), nice if traveling by train (also a bus from the airport will drop you off here) but you will need to travel to get to the tourist attractions.

Location was good, and the staff was extremely helpful, room was clean, however the bed WAS SOOOO HARD, EXTRA FIRM, might as well slept on the tile floor. We woke up stiff and sore every morning.

The location was very good. Our room faced the street, it was noisy. The breakfast was ok, but the coffe was not good. We will recomend this hotel and come back.

The location of the hotel is excellent - 5 mins walk to Termini train station and only 2 mins to the metro, which will get you to many of the city's attractions. There are a good selection of restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. The hotel rooms are very small, but are clean and functional. The elevator is very old, so it's not much use during peak times. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is recommended for those wanting to be close to the main tourist sights or within walking distance to Termini train station.

Location is good in that it is located close to the main Termini station, however you should be aware that it is located on the other side of the station to the key tourist sites. During warmer months I would definitely recommend the rooftop area. Accommodation is expensive in Rome so set your expectations by the hotel's star rating *not* the price you are paying for the room.

Located within luggage towing distance of the Railway which is important given the length of taxi queues. Quiet despite location. Steep tight stairs (5 floors)and a tiny lift. Pleasant roof top area for meals which is necessary as the breakfast room is inadequate in size.

shower very small but room excellent. Previous comments mentioned helpful staff. That is absolutely true. definitely use this hotel again.

Situated very close to the Termini so very handy for arriving and departures (especially early morning). Short walk to Rome centre and tourist spots. Hotel staff friendly and efficient. Our double room was spacious, clean (included a fridge) and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Rome.

Great place for people who want to base themselves around the train station.

11 - 14 August We really enjoyed every moment of our stay at Des Artistes Hotel Rome. The service was excellent and the rooms were exceptionally clean. Lovely buffet breakfast served. A 5 - 10 minute walk from the Termini, where most busses and overland trains depart from and a 4min walk from the nearest Metro. I will definitely recommend the hotel to anyone!

Have stayed here on a couple of occasions and was satisfied with standard of accommodation (triple en suite) and price. Decent location quite near Termini and pleasent roof top terrace for breakfast and bar. A slight inconvenience is the tiny lift to reception on 5th floor, which can be a bit chaotic during the busy summer season.

Lack of breakfast room is a problem

Des Artistes is excellently located beside the terminal for any travellers visiting the site, staff very helpul, room comfortable, breakfast buffet, coffee lovely. I would recommend for location as at the end of the day no matter where you are in the city you can find a bus back to terminal. Good value for money & very clean!!

Stayed here June 2006. Excellent location, minutes from the train station, 200m from the metro. Extremely convenient to get to anywhere in Rome as 2 metro lines intersect. Staff at times not the friendliest. Good breakfast, the rooftop terrace is a nice place to sit in the morning. Walls are indeed a little thin but I slept through the night. Note that there is no internet access on site but they give you a free coupon for a close-by internet cafe. Recommend staying here for its location but don't expect much in terms of decor or facilities, but the rooms and washrooms are very clean.

Good size clean family unit (2 rooms) with good breakfast. Located easy walk to main train station.

A very pleasant and charming hotel with an ideal location for transport links. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A very good hotel for a few days spent on a City break.
