The Hotel Des Balances… our elegant 4 Star Hotel has 56 tastefully appointed rooms in various categories, all of which, are comfortably equipped with a bath, shower (or both), a minibar, TV, radio and direct-dial telephone as well as coffee and tea appliances. After renovation at the beginning of 2008 all our rooms and suites are non smoking. Our Restaurant, Bar, Terrace, as well as our Conference Rooms and Salons are at your disposal for Seminars or Banquets and ideally situated in Lucerne’s Old Town.

Getting there:For a relaxed journey with a private car you will find our directions on www.balances.ch under contact. If you arrive by train, there are taxis waiting outside the station. On foot we are within easy reach in approximately 7 minutes. Just cross over the lake bridge and follow the river on the left. After 200 metres you have reached the HOTEL DES BALANCES. The entrance faces towards the old town.
Check-in Procedure:Check-In time is at 2 pm. Please let us know your arrival before 2 pm or after 6 pm.
Car parking:Benefit from our valet parking service. Simply drive right upfront and leave your car key at the reception desk. Optional at the charge of CHF 27.- per night we park the car in our parking garage and return it on demand.
Child Policy:An additional bed for a persons over 12 years is CHF 70.00, an extra bed for children between 6-11 years old is CHF 35.00 and an extra bed for children between 0-5 years old is free of charge
It is a beautiful hotel in the centre of the old city of Lucern. Its location is perfect, in the middle of the pedestrian zone, near the river and the famous old bridge of Lucern. The staff is very friendly and helpful - we enjoyed our stay.
Helpful staff, great rooms, great breakfast, and nicely located in the Old Town.
We found the hotel to be a Gem, location, cleanliness, service, and the staff friendly and helpful, my wife has coeliac disease and they even supplied gluten free bread for breakfast. We would recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again soon, Lucerne is a really lovely place to visit.

The hotel is well kept and the staff is very cordial and friendly with a personal touch. The front desk is very well informed and willing to go the extra mile. I enjoyed the stay with my family and two children.
DES BALANCES HOTEL IS A CHARMING TRADITIONAL, YET UP TO DATE EQUIPED HOTEL. ITS LOCATION IS MAGNIFICENT, THE OLD CITY ON ONE SIDE AND THE RIVER ON THE OTHER. THE BREAKFAST IS SUPERB AND THE SERVICE VERY ATTENTIVE. WE ENJOYED OUR STAY VERY MUCH AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO VISIT SOON AGAIN.
We stayed for the week including the carnival and everything about this hotel was excellent. They even provided ear-plugs for the carnival night which was not really a problem. We would defiantly stay here again.

Great location in the old town, staff were helpful and friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable.
Carpeting was old in our room, but very very spacious corner suite. Two queen sized beds (could have fit at least 4 in that room), small LCD TV with lots of channels. Seemed a little dusty and dirty but not too bad. Tub only, no shower curtain so if you're used to showers, you'll get the bathroom wet (hand held shower head had poor pressure). Had hair dryer and 110 plugs. Breakfast buffet (included) was great, smoked salmon, cheese, champagne, etc. Valet parking was 27CHF, not the greatest price, but convienient if you can find how to get into the place (there's only one route into the mostly pedestrian zone).
Great location on the river, in old town Lucerne. Just far enough down the river to be quiet, and just close enough to everything. Very good breakfast and excellent dinner menu at the restaurant.

A very nice hotel in a historic building (but modern restoration) with helpful friendly staff. Perfect location makes it excellent value. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The hotel includes a very good restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river.
Really great Hotel but the Restaurant was way out of our price range and we couldn't see why when compared with others in the locality which we found better value.

A room overlooking the river is essential if you want a good night's sleep in warm weather, since the noise in Weinmarkt echoes all night.

Hotel was great. Location couldn't have been better. Upon arrival, we upgraded our room to have a balcony as opposed to the standard "city view". It was just beautiful. The staff were so helpful and polite. They immediately made you feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious. The bed and bathrooms were immaculate. I highly recommend for it's location, staff and view.
Breakfast could have been better but overall an excellent hotel to stay whilst in Lucerne.
