Hotel is very modern with good facilities. The restaurant with stunning views of the old city is excellent value. The hotel is within easy walking distance of both the Old City, and the newer area.
The location must be best in the city and the view from the restaurant just fantastic! the staff were very helpful and friendly, would stay again.
A very nice hotel, helpful staff, free internet, great breakfast. My wife & I stayed in a panoramic room which was just lovely, it had a view of the old fort, the view at night was wonderful as the fort is lit up at night. There was a bridge just outside of the hotel, & to get to the fort, was just across the bridge. i.e. The hotel is in a really great position. If we were to return to Carcassonne we would stay there again. The Panoramic View Room cost a little more as they are not classified as a normal standard room. For a good place to stay, stay here.
We stayed in this hotel twice in the last month, at the beginning and end of our holiday in France. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It has a great location for La Cité and a fantastic view from the bedroom. Our second bedroom was bigger than the first and had a larger balcony. The breakfast could have been a bit better and the shower in both rooms had a hand-held head. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
A wonderful view of the Old City from the restaurant - the food there is pretty good too. Plenty of choice at breakfast, although hot dishes are restricted to scrambled eggs and sausages. Had two evening meals in the restaurant - the food is excellent and there is an English menu!
The room was lovely but the breakfast was very average.
Stayed in this hotel in early December 2008. The reception staff were very courtious and helpful. The hotel has a great location - right on the banks of the River Aude - looking straight at the Medieval Walled City of Carcossonne and just five minutes walk to the shopping district of Carcossonne / ten minutes walk to Carcossonne Railway Station. The hotel also has a rooftop breakfast room, which has an increadible view of the walled Medieval City of Carcossonne (not to be missed). The hotel was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
Hotel is ideally placed for exploring the 2 main areas and the views of the medieval castle are stunning from the panoramic rooms. Rooms are basic and could do with an upgrade.
Good location with easy stroll to the old town. Excellent breakfast with views from the dining room. Good value for money, would definitely stay there in the future.
Highly recommended fo a short stay. Good basic accommodation, excellent service from friendly competent staff.
Excellent location in between old and new towns and close to airport bus drop off. Don't be put off by external appearance. Excellent view of old city from restaurant on 4th floor. 'Swimming pool' very small. Staff friendly and helpful. No kettle in room.
Good facilities, comfortable room if a bit small but fantastic view of the Old City of Carcassonne & Castle. Good location for the whole of Carcassonne with a short walk to bars shops and restaurants. Underground car park great if you have hired a car. Staff very helpful.
You book this hotel for the view from the balcony. It overlooks the medieval city and is amazing to wake up to a view like that. I've stayed in this hotel before but chose to go in a room like the picture on the website. Brighter rooms than the lower ones but not much else for the additional money. No coffee making facilities and the rooms are typical french "shabby" chic but its clean and right in the heart of all the sightseeing. Bed clean and comfy. Breakfast is ok - usual bread, cheese ham coffee cereals fruit etc. Hot breakfast is nothing to write home about - terrible sausages and sloppy scrambled eggs - to be avoided lol. Otherwise it is a great place as a little stop over for a few days in lovely Carcassonne.
Excellent location - easy (but a bit long) walk from the train station, short walk up to the old town.
Decor bit tired...must be due update.Great view.
Hotel Reception Staff were not that friendly. The Rooms were clean and adequate, but the Public Areas were in need of a facelift and redecoration.
Location and restaurant were excellent. The room was rather small but the view was magical.Useful garage parking available at extra cost.Staff friendly but receptionist a little frosty. All in all very satisfactory. Would definitely go back.
Amazing views of the old City....Wonderful location and really good restaurant! Try the Cassoulet!
VERY NICE HOTEL IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION
A very busy hotel and the standard rooms are small. Although the restaurant has fabulous views of the Old City we found that this was under-staffed for both breakfast & dinner which meant that poor service resulted. A shame as the staff there were doing their best.
