Getting there:Coober Pedy is 834kms north of Adelaide and 680 kms South of Alice Springs on the sealed Stuart Highway. The Desert Cave Hotel is located in the centre of town along the left hand side of Hutchison Street, the main street of Coober Pedy, you can't miss us!!
Check-in Procedure:Check-in time is from 2.00 pm and onwards. Please have your credit card or debit card at hand. For guests arriving by early morning bus or arriving via the Ghan (train) guests are required to pre-register in order that a room is available for your arrival.
Car parking:The Desert Cave Hotel has no dedicated car parking because of our underground rooms and as such all guests can park their cars in our courtyard area which has surveillance cameras. It is off the street carparking and is secure for all persons staying with the Desert Cave Hotel.
Child Policy:A child is any person 12 years and younger. A person 13 years and older is classed as an Adult.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The underground rooms are fascinating - spacious, interesting and well appointed. The service was superb - from every member of staff. It is more expensive than we thought it should be but it's very central and looks great.
Our aboveground rooms have air-conditioning, en-suites and can have queen size, king size or two king size single beds.
Our underground rooms have en-suites, king size or queen size beds or twin single beds. They are naturally air-conditioned and are all non-smoking. All our aboveground rooms have air-conditioning. All rooms have Colour T.V, free In-House movies, Mini Bar, Hairdryers, Telephone & Internet Data Port access, Iron & Ironing Board and Coffee and Tea making facilities.
Met my expectations. I was disappointed the Wifi signal was not strong enough in my room.
This was our first visit to Coober Pedy and staying at the Desert cave Hotel was an excellent experiece as it was located close to all tours and areas of interest in the towm - can walk to all shops. It was very relaxing and loved the design and unique features. I will definately visit Coober Pedy again and stay in the Desert Cave Hotel. It was one of my most relaxing holidays.
We enjoyed our stay at the Desert Cave Hotel. Staying underground was a different experience. I would recommend this to anyone. We will stay again.

The underground room was great - amazing natural colours but the Breakfast was very ordinary.
We quite enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nicely themed and the resturant was lovely. A little pricey as all food is in the outback, but well worth the cost.
Was very impressed with the underground hotel. Expected something a little claustrophobic but was pleasantly surprised with the space of the rooms.
If you are going to stay in this hotel, ask for an underground room. It is a unique experience. The hotel restaurant is very very good.
