Underground and Aboveground accommodation, Opal shop, Cafe, Bar, Restaurant and display areas - all within beautiful, soft, natural sandstone surrounds.

The Desert Cave has 19 underground rooms and 31 aboveground rooms, you can sleep underground or aboveground, enjoy fine dining, splash in the pool, relax in the spa. Stroll in the cool comfort of our underground displays.

Getting there: Coober Pedy is 834kms north of Adelaide and 680 kms South of Alice Springs on the sealed Stuart Highway.

The Desert Cave Hotel is located in the centre of town along the left hand side of Hutchison Street, the main street of Coober Pedy, you can't miss us!!
Check-in Procedure: Check-in time is from 2.00 pm and onwards.

For guests arriving by early morning bus or arriving via the Ghan (train) guests are required to pre-register in order that a room is available for your arrival.
Car parking: The Desert Cave Hotel has no dedicated car parking because of our underground rooms and as such all guests can park their cars in our courtyard area which has surveillance cameras.

It is off the street carparking and is secure for all persons staying with the Desert Cave Hotel.
