Getting there:Only metres away from bus stops and train station. Only 13km from the airport, shuttle buses will take you right to the doorstep of the hotel. Preferences for smoking or non-smoking room are not guaranteed. If driving, just follow the main road, Southern Cross Drive, heading north and it simply becomes South Dowling Street and then Victoria Street, Darlinghurst Road, and finally Macleay Street all in one road. The taxi from the airport is approximately $30.00 - $45.00 and takes 25 - 45 minutes depending on traffic. The KST Airporter shuttle bus costs $10.00 per adult and takes about 45 minutes - not provided by the hotel, but the Airport Express stops at the doorstep every 30 minutes. Taxi from Central railway station is approximately $ 20.00 for about 15 minutes. Prices of fares above are all subject to change.

Hotel is well located with access to public transportation very easy to go anywhere in downtown Sydney. Hotel is a little old with a few stairs to go up and down if you carry heavy luggage. Room was basic but confortable. It had a small kitchen and everything was very clean. Grocery stores very close by. I would stay there once again.

My wife and I stayed at the Devere early March and as long as you dont mind being right on top of the Red Light district but we never felt uncomfortable when walking through, it has ideal transport links to all the major sites in the city. dispite location there were plenty of places to eat at reasonable prices near by. The staff were helpful and friendly we stayed in the newly renovated 2nd floor and would recommend these rooms very stylish
The rooms are relatively small but clean and functional. The hotel is a bit quirky with its reading room entrance and a range of clocks set to the times of a range of key international cities above the reception desk. The location is great with Woolworths across the road and numerous restaurants nearby. The room rates are generally very competitive so it is definitely worth a serious look.

Devere was well located, comfortable and reasonably priced. Nice rooms, not the newest but decent. Good facilities included. WIFI available in the foyer and in selected rooms for a minimal cost. Pretty happy with my stay there - I will go back again.
We found this hotel to be convenient to St Lukes hospital for some day surgery, but also close to Kings Cross restaurants,etc. Also close to train station (about 3 blocks?) for commuting to city shopping. Good value for an upgraded queen room. Would stay there again.

The room was much larger this time and had a view out to the street. Very impressive. Really enjoyed staying in this hotel right near everything. Excellent value for money.
this is a very old hotel and the rooms are smalll. however, the room was clean. location is outstnding, close to shops, grocerys, licquor store,banks, parks, transportation and anything else you could require. the staff at the hotel was very helpful. our two night stay prior to going on a cruise was very good.
A good sized room - perfect for a family of three (which we are). Alittle dated. Mosquitoes in room on arrival - but staff very pleasant and sprayed room.
My favourite hotel in Sydney. Have booked here many times. My only complaint is that the rooms are overpriced on the weekends.
A clean and comfortable hotel not far from the city only 1 train stop away from the middle of town and very reasonabley priced
Great location in Kings Cross walking distance to everything. Basic room with the little kitchenette apart. Comfortable bathroom. Only problem I found was no air conditioning (that I could find), which was needed and it was noisy between floors. Good value for money.
the Chinese guy receptionist is kindhearted and like to help the others.
