Devon Hotel New Plymouth (The)

Room new and modern but VERY small suitable for one person. I would stay again

room a little small, but ok for 1 night stay. Older hotel that has been refurbished to a good standard. good bar and lounge area

The only down side was being woken up early in the morning by diggers and workers digging a huge hole outside our window, looks like some major renovations going on, this woke baby up unfortunately. We booked the room and dinner combo, what great value and awesome food would definately stay again and happily refer other people for the website deal. next time will check if any work going on though and make sure room is away from it. No doubt hotel will be even nice next time by the look of the renovation going on

This hotel is rated 4 star but I would rate it 3 star at a stretch. The room may have been refurbished, but badly. This property was conveniently located for our purposes and the price was reasonable but definitely not 4 star.

Clean comfortable accommodation. Try and get a room away from the noisy street, their garden rooms are good choice. Within walking distance to downtown on a fine day.

A reasonable hotel but quite expensive. It hosts large functions which can make it noisy and parking difficult. Driving rather than walking distance to the town centre

friendly staff, great hotel, great facilities and close to town and the boardwalk. Value for money. Really enjoyed my stay

A great place to visit. I like the extras - access to free internet, for example. Rooms are very comfortable. The location is a slight problem - on a busy street, so can be noisy. But a good place to take a family - swimming pool, pleasant restaurant, free bikes.

A very pleasant modern hotel on the main street about half a kilometre from downtown. Our room was spacious and modern with flat sceen LCD television and had a pleasant outlook onto the hotel gardens with a sea view from the side window. The staff couldn't have been more helpful keeping us stocked up with milk and hot chocolate and coffee sachets. The hotel has a buffet restaurant only. It was Halloween and the restaurant was packed and service slow. We ate relatively late and thought the buffet was pretty tired. We did not have breakfast. Overall probably the best large hotel in New Plymouth and we would recommend it but would eat elsewhere.

We found that the rooms we were offered were not like the photo's.We ended up asking to view other rooms and eventually ended up with the renovated rooms which were of a better standard.We did have to separate as a family which cost us more in the long run.Would stay again,sorry

We have no hesitation in recommending Devon hotel to others. From the friendly initial welcome we found all of the services and facilities to be of a high standard. They even found a place for us to hide our expensive motorbike from opportunists. Great stay. Thanks.

Always stop here when visiting family in New Plymouth.Find it great value for money & for the price surroundings & service exceed expectations.Only observation would be that price of both cooked & continental breakfasts are not very competitive compared to Kingsgate Hotels.

Excellent, was more than we expected. Would definately recommend the Devn Hotel to others.

Slept very poorly. Although due in part to high school sports teams staying, we would rate the building very poor for noise transferral.
