Took advantage of a need to attend a conference and spent the weekend enjoying ourselves before the conference started
Quirky rseidence conveniently situated close to CBD and lake. Short walk to nearby hotel for attendance at a business conference.
Front desk staff are next to useless, as they are uni students who work here part time vs real staff - as such on two occasions I had blank looks regarding the location of two well known landmarks. One even helpfully looked it up on line, then marked it incorrectly (wrong side of the lake) on my map. Rooms are tiny! For all their "funky" decor, they reminded me of my room at the uni dorm years ago. The AC blows directly over the bed, so unable to keep it on for long. Don't bother with the cafe/restaurant - I walked out at their atrocious service. Just around the corner is a nice little cafe, and a short walk leads to some enjoyable restaurants. The wifi is a joke. Don't even bother. The only thing going for it is its location.
We (couple) stayed for 3 nights and paid $610 (breakfast not included). The first room was extremely small and management moved us to a slightly bigger room. Very modern and spotless. Quiet and comfortable. Bathroom excellent but dark and needs much better lighting. Internal corridor walls painted mustard(!) with poor lighting giving first, but wrong, impression of a dingy hotel as rooms are the opposite. Staff very friendly and professional. Compared with a similar hotel in Sydney cbd it is too expensive. (The hotel has a bistro and food very good but all the wait staff hopeless, being quite the opposite of the hotel staff.)
welcome pack on arrival and reception knowing your name was a personal touch. very comfortable and quirky decorations in a modern outside environment at New Acton. only 15min walk into city centre
A very stylish and comfortable hotel within 10 minutes walking distance of the Canberra CBD. Our room was small but very well designed and equipped. Furniture and fixtures were of a very high quality. Parking near the hotel is limited, but secure off street parking was available for an extra $15 day.
Nice refurbished hotel in a convenient location. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
i was very happy with the hotel chosen and had a very good weekend i would stay there again when going to canberra
I stay at the Diamant Hotel with my 14 year old son, my son loved it. The rooms a great and the decor is very minimalistic and interesting. We had a meal from the restaurant on one of the nights and it was very enjoyable as well. We will definitely be back.
The hotel was very Boutique and its proximity to the funky eating houses of Canberra was a great bonus. The absence of a bath and pool was a bit of a surprise but no big deal. It's a Boutique hotel so not what I was used to but still great. Staff were friendly and helpful. You have to visit the Parlour Room Wine Bar for Tapas and cocktails! Breakfast you can't go past Urban just down the corner. Would definitely stay there again.
This hotel is beautiful and indulgent. The staff are lovely, their in-house restaurant and room service are wonderful. If you're not a greenie in any sense of the phrase, you'll love this place. If you're happy to reuse your bar of soap, unfinished body and hair care products and towels from the previous day, if you believe in conserving water during your showers, or even if you like to unpack your clothes into drawers this hotel is not really made for you. The hotel apparently has a policy of completely replacing all the bathroom products every day regardless.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the 'cbd' and has good onsite facitilities, several restaurants on bars. The are a couple of downsides of the hotel is parking - very limited on street parking which is no good if you need to park during the day. The off street parking is a little expensive at $15 per day, but also inconvenient as you need to go through another building to get to it. The rooms while well appointed are on the small side. When rooms are small it really helps if the chair for the desk will fit under the desk - unfortuantely it didn't. The bathroom is nice but as other reviews have mentioed there is no where in the shower to put soap etc, very inconvenient. Overall quite a nice hotel, particularly when they have special rates on office.
My stay was quite pleasant. The facilities were good and the staff were all quite helpful.
Very friendly staff. In house dining very average and somewhat pricey. Quiet location with some free paring on weekends in the street in front (if you get a spot).
I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room itself was tiny, there was a luggage rack in the wardrobe but no space to actually set it up. We had to store our suitcases under the desk just to be able to walk around the bed. The bed itself was excellent, very comfortable. They ask you to hang towels up if you intend to use them again (water conservation), would be helpful to have somewhere to hang the handtowel. I guess the pricing was OK by Canberra standards but really I can't see how they can be justified. If I'm paying $230 per night I expect much, much better facilities
Very clean, modern, better than I expected. Hotel staff are friendly. They leave you shampoos/conditioner/soap each time they service the room and some other essentials. Complimentary paper at service desk. No complaints. Would stay there again. Parking however can be a slight issue as there are time restrictions during the weekday. Other than that, a good hotel to stay at
Well appointed rooms, and great eating facilities but our room which was on the ground floor was subject to noise from both people walking past outside and from people in corridors. Normally not a problem but at 12:30am or 4:40am when you like to get a bit of shut eye, it's not so good. The lack of on-site parking facilities was a bit of a minus also. Other than that, enjoyed the most wonderful breakfasts and great Tapas.
The room was relaxing and nicely furnished, the location was great, the foyer was lovely.
