A good sized room and bed and a generous bathroom. The only downside was an odour that seemed to permeate the bathroom from the drains. This could be minimized by keeping the plugs in place. The breakfast was adequate. The front desk staff were very helpful and English was not a problem. Small lifts were a challenge with baggage

Hotel is rather worn out, like most hotel in Florence and needs refurbishing. Good location and good breakfast.

As with my previous comments. Hotel very clean and tidy. There is a lack of amenties, the bar is in a sister hotel along the street for example. The price is not cheap for the standard of hotel however for me its convenient location makes up for all other shortcomings. The coffee at breakfast is still not good although they have now got the espresso machine up and running.

Location. Location. Location. Across the road from the train station, short walk into town but just far enough away to be a little quieter. Perfect. Price is ok too. Rooms are good (but plain) and the breakfast is good (but plain) so dont think its a 4 star but Id stay again.

Very convenient location within 150m of main rail station and 10 min utes walk fro Duomo. Room clean and tidy, moderate mini bar prices, excellent bathroom. Facilities are very limited so not sure how this rates a "4 star". Breakfast was OK but coffee not up to ususla Italian standards, they have an Espresso machine but do not use it! Coffee is from a "press button" machine. However I would stay here again as it is a nice balance of price and convenience. Although city centre the rooms are quiet.

Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. When this whole project is completed it will surely be more than a three star hotel.

The hotel is just located right next to the train station, which you can't miss it. The hotel staff is nice and friendly most of the time. The size of the room is very good and clean at all corners. The hotel breakfast is fairly good. It's kind of a good choice there. You can also find the restaurants, convenience story and internet nearby. Walking distance to the shopping and attaction.

I recently stayed at the hotel Diplomat for 3 days while taking in the sights of Florence. The hotel is convieniently situated for train travelers, directly across from Santa Maria Novella station and a short walk from all the major sites. My single room was more than adequate with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The breakfast buffet was ample, excellent and served from 7:00-10:30. The 50 euro a night rate was definitely a plus! The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but there is a grocery store across the street, as well as a post office, and several good and inexpensive eat in/ take out eating spots attached to the hotel. The train station location was not a problem, seemed no more seedy than anywhere else I walked to and as a middle-aged woman traveling alone I felt extremely safe. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. All in all a very good stay and would definitely recommend this hotel especially at the low rates offered this winter....

This is the best 3 star hotel we have stayed in during our vacation in Italy. The people are very helpful and service is very good. The place is very nice and clean. The location is perfect for travelers.

Great experience. The hotel is within a block of the main train station, and the room was very nice.

Although I wouldn't normally select a hotel next to the train station, my schedule required it. The Diplomat was clean, comfortable, pleasant and professional.

We stayed for 2 nights. Positive: the location was great. Nice spacious room! Great breakfast. Negative: the first day we complained about we couldn't close the bathroom door. When we came back in the evening nothing had been done. We reminded the receptionist who had forgotten about it. Next day nothing happened either despite a second reminder. That's bad service! Apart from the service I can recommend this hotel if you get a discount on the stay. Enjoy Florence!

The hotel is just opposite the railway station and mini supermarket. It is close to bus stop, walking distance to tour pickups, restaurants including fast food, shops and walking distance to the Duomo (5 - 10 min walk). A number of other hotels link to this hotel are located side by side and share a common breakfast area and the breakfast area is large enough to cater for all.

We stayed for Threee nights in this hotel. Considering that Florence is relatively expensive this is a quite reasonable hotel. It is very functional beeing only five minutes away from Duomo and the Giotto cathedral and just in front of the railway station. The view is not very special but you can get a glimpse of the two ovewrmentioned attractions if you live in the upper floor. Room size is good and the staff very helpful. I can safely recommend it

Excellent hotel for Florence standards. We stayed in Florence two years ago, paid much more and did not experience this level of service. This hotel is part of the B&H group, a group with very high standards at a competitive price. I would recomend this hotel to people even used to 4 star hotels.

The only problem with hotel was the parking. If you are not driving it would be excellent value but we found it very difficult as parking station nearby was full and we had to metre park.

Lovely newly refurbished hotel room with a large terrace. 5th floor breakfast room has views over Florence.

Very efficient and friendly staff. Very close to all main cultural buildings. Breakfast very good. Room really good and amazingly with balcony which afforded an excellent view. Certainly happy to strongly recommend this hotel.

A great hotel. The best views of Florence are in the breakfast room.
