DiscoveryHoliday Paks Rockhampton is a 4 AAAT Star rated tropical paradise situated in North Rockhampton on the Tropic of Capricorn. The property grounds covers an area of 4 hectares (10 acres) and is beautifully landscaped with over 90 different varieties of tropical palms (over 4000 palms plus heliconias, gingers and bromeliads) and it has won numerous garden awards over the years from 1983 to 2006. The Village offers a large variety of self contained cabins and villas with parking right outside your door. Together with an a la carte restaurant, Outdoor Bistro and small conference centre your stay here at Tropical Wanderer could not be anything but enjoyable. Tropical Wanderer has two delightful swimming pools as well as a children's pool. Facilities also include a half-sized tennis court, games room as well as the latest movie release shown nightly on the big screen, all available for your entertainment. Tropical Wanderer is also the perfect location for that get away shopping experience. The Rockhampton Stockland shopping centre is less than 1km south and the new and exciting Homemakers centre is directly adjacent. All within walking distance. The CQ University is only a 5 minute drive north and all schools and sporting venues are within 15 minutes by car or taxi.

Getting there:Big 4 Discovery Holiday Parks Rockhampton is on the Bruce Highway in North Rockhampton, adjacent to Emmaus College and the new Homemakers centre. It is approximately 15 minutes from the domestic Rockhampton Airport, the Railway Station and the Bus Terminals. The Rocky Taxi service is also readily available. Please note some GPS systems do not recognise our address and send you the wrong way. Our property is opposite Sheehy St as an alternative address.
Check-in Procedure:Rate is for 2 people unless otherwise stated in each rooms information. Maximum occupancy of rooms listed also in Room Information. Extra guest charge $16 per night payable direct to property on checkin. All bedding supplied for 4 star Villas. Holiday and Palm Villas have linen supplied for main bed only. Linen for the other bedding (single & bunks) can be hired from the property or you can bring your own. Please contact property direct to arrange. Office hours 7am-
Car parking:Each Villa/cabin has it's own private parking space beside accommodation. There is space for one car only per cabin
Child Policy:Children under 2 yrs stay free in existing bedding. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents.
Considering it was school holidays I was happy with the accomodation and found the facilities quite adequate. Using the on line web booking system was great.
We stayed in a Tropical Villa - it was very spacious.. The furnishings were all modern, the beds very comfortable (doona's not bedspreads, which is good) The bathroom was clean/modern, however.. the shower in desperate need for some Exit Mould. The floors appeared to be clean but very sticky to walk on (take your slippers) The car spaces are next to each villa, but a little tight to get into. The park facilities seems very good, although we weren't there long enough to use them. Location was excellent - close to all the shops. Overall, it was nice and clean.. and would definitely stay there again.. GREAT FOR KIDS

Lovely setting, helpful staff, good range of options for travellers, leisure villas are more suitable for business clients than the holiday villas, which are more basic.
Where we stayed in the village, the 2 room unit was virtually brand new, beds very comfortable with large singles for the kids. Kitchen amenities were the best we've come across with large fridge/freezer making longer stays much more enjoyable. We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay here and have recently booked another Big4 location on the merits of this one. The relaxing of the checkout time (by arrangement) made it easier for us on departure day with one of the kids being sick the night before and not getting a lot of sleep.
