"Te Anau. Distinction Luxmore. First went to check in at Distinction Lake View- wrong hotel. After that the Luxmore had a fight on, not helped by check in attitude. Room fine, two doubles, clean but a little tired-far from grand. Old fashioned tv belongs in a museum. Broadband fair price with limited downloads. Second check in far more amiable. Breakfasts good. Getting there:

All roads are well signposted. From Queenstown - 2 hours - take Highway 6 to the turn off at Five Rivers just before Lumsden, then follow Highway 94 to Te Anau. From Invercargill - 1.5 hours - take Highway 6 to the turn off at Lumsden then follow highway 94 to Te Anau. From Dunedin - 3.5 hours - take Highway 1 to Gore then Highway 94 to Te Anau. The Hotel is located in the Town Centre, drive along Lakefront Drive to the roundabout, turn left onto the Main St and the Hotel is on the corner of Mokonui Street and the Main Street on your left hand side.

Rates are for 2 people. Maximum Occupancy is 3 in a Standard Room and 4 in a Superior Room . Extra adult charge aged 12 and over is $28.00 NZD per night OR 1 child under 12 is free when using existing bedding.(Any additional charges are payable direct to the hotel)

Meals - Age 0 - 3 yrs all meals free of charge, age 4 - 12 yrs all meals are 50% of menu price. Age 13 yrs & over are considered an adult.
