Getting there:All roads are well signposted. From Queenstown - 2 hours - take Highway 6 to the turn off at Five Rivers just before Lumsden, then follow Highway 94 to Te Anau. From Invercargill - 1.5 hours - take Highway 6 to the turn off at Lumsden then follow highway 94 to Te Anau. From Dunedin - 3.5 hours - take Highway 1 to Gore then Highway 94 to Te Anau. The Hotel is located in the Town Centre, drive along Lakefront Drive to the roundabout, turn left onto the Main St and the Hotel is on the corner of Mokonui Street and the Main Street on your left hand side.

Child Policy:Rates are for 2 people. Maximum Occupancy is 3 guests per room . Extra adult charge aged 12 years and over is $35 NZD per night OR 1 child under 12 is free when using existing bedding.(Any additional charges are payable direct to the hotel) Meals - Age 0 - 3 yrs all meals free of charge, age 4 - 12 yrs all meals are 50% of menu price. Age 13 yrs & over are considered an adult.
Very comfortable hotel in excellent position in the middle of town. All staff friendly and food excellent. Would recommend.

Average rooms. Great place for day hikes or backpacking trips in the area. Friendly staff. Will keep luggage if on a multi-day backpacking trip. Located on the main strip.

Room and bathroom a bit small for our family. Hotel situated in shopping area and walking distance from Lake Te Anau. Parking was limited so we had to park our car on the street in the one hour parking zone so we had to move our car by 9 am.

The girl on reception was very helpful. The room was comfortable although the decor I felt was a bit dated. Bedside lighting was very bright but the main lighting was dim.

The staff were very friendly. Our room was old, next to the restaurant, not quiet till 10 pm.
The Luxmore needs a facelift. It’s clean and the staff are friendly however the rooms and general condition of the Hotel is poor. This is a 3 star Hotel at best. The food in the dining room is terrible - the worst we experienced during 9 days travelling the South Island. The breakfast was so poor, we couldn't eat it. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere else.
I would recommend this hotel . We did not eat at the hotel, but did have a continental brekkie.

Central location and friendly staff. Found my room hadn't been serviced during a 2 night stay but that was sorted by reception staff who did it themselves.
Beautiful room overlooking lake. Very difficult to find room when entering or leaving car park. Very poor signage and inadequate instructions form staff on how to get to room. Parking level numbers do not appear to correlate with room numbers and levels. Stayed 2 days so tested this well.
The hotel has seen its brightest years about 20 years ago. Everything looked an smelt a bid old but was still in a good state. The room was quite spacious, the beds comfortable. Alltogether not really the best place for young people or families, but still convenient.
Good location, good service, restaurant has very good food and prices are reasonable. I would recommend this hotel.
Te Anau. Distinction Luxmore. First went to check in at Distinction Lake View- wrong hotel. After that the Luxmore had a fight on, not helped by check in attitude. Room fine, two doubles, clean but a little tired-far from grand. Old fashioned tv belongs in a museum. Broadband fair price with limited downloads. Second check in far more amiable. Breakfasts good. Stay again? Possibly not.
