"We stayed at the Dom Pedro for 1 night due to its close proximity to the airport. This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.
We personally found the Dom Pedro a very depressing place. We had a room on the 7th floor with reasonably nice view over the sea. Large cracks both inside and outside of room - hopefully only superficial! No balcony, but did have a window that opened fully - not child friendly by any means as sheer drop outside.
Absolutely no sound insulation between rooms. There was some aircraft noise but not really troublesome.
No tea or coffee-making facilities or hairdryer in room -we believe you have to upgrade to be supplied with these.
Breakfast was adequate but there was a distinct lack of any smiling staff.
Facilities outside of the hotel very poor - did not appear to be any gardens but did have an outdoor swimming pool with lots of sun loungers postioned very closely together.
