Doña Maria Hotel is placed right in the middle of Seville's historic centre, in front of the Cathedral and its world known Giralda, to the doors of the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz.
Its Palace House brings together the traditional flavour and, as one would expect, the highest quality and comfort.
The neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, the Jewish Quarter, "La Macarena", "El Gran Poder", the Museum, María Luisa's Park, "Triana" and the river ... are within walking distance from Doña María Hotel.
Placed beside the Cathedral, heart and spirit of Seville´s "Semana Santa" (Holy Week), it allows its guests to fully enjoy Seville's Greatest Week, probably one of the deepest-rooted popular religious manifestations known all over the world.
The Hotel Doña María was originally a XIV Century palatial mansion belonging to Samuel Leví, advisor and confidant of King Peter I, "The Cruel".
According to chronicles of that period, subterranean passageways used to connect the Hotel to the Royal Palace (Reales Alcázares) and to the Guadalquivir River, outside the city walls.
The palatial mansion (Casa Palacio) was later acquired by the Marquis and Marquise of la Peña, the great grandparents and great-great-grandparents of the present proprietors. |
