This hotel is a real find! It's a block from Union Square in San Francisco. The rooms are spacious; ours would have slept four. Parking is cheaper than at most Union Square hotels. The restaurant, Zingari, is excellent (if pricey). The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even have cards giving directions to get into or out of the city. And the price is low. You can't do better than the Donatello.
Amazing stay. Large and elegant room. Very helpful front desk staff. Will definitely return
A spacious room with king bed, 10ft ceillings, wet-bar, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker in each room.
This is a great hotel in an excellent central location at a price that is affordable. You can walk from the hotel to most sites within the city, the rooms are spacious and the service good The only fault I could find in the place was the quality of the wifi internet - it kept dropping out and was oh so slow
Donatello Hotel and Resturant was where I spent my birthday and my family had dinner. Our experiance was excellent from the service to the food. I will be back.
From the moment the valet took my car and I registered with Jesus at the front desk the staff were efficient and friendly. The service in the restaurant with Stefan my waiter was of an equal high standard. Facilities were great with large well appointed rooms. With the hotels central location I would certainly recommend it to fellow travellers when in San Francisco.
The front desk staff, housecleaning staff, Valet parking and concierge staff were all very helpful and friendly. I felt that nothing was too much trouble for them. The location was close to shopping and transport. The rooms were large and comfortable, a bit dated but very clean and had all necessary facilities including large entrance with cupboards and wardrobe. There was a restaurant on site with Jazz entertainment each night. A roof top lounge with small exercise area and all day tea and coffee. A nice place. I would stay again.
Absolutely recommend The Donatello well above the 5-stars nearby. Staff very welcoming, room-size well above par, well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay there. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed.
Although not cheap, fairly priced hotel in a superb central location. Very spacious room, nice staff - I'd definitely recommend it.
Good location near Powell and Union Square, for moving around in SF, but in nighttime a lot of homeless people around U.S. A bit 80-90` decor, but comfortable bed and very large room with facilities, if you wish make coffee or heat takeout. No breakfast in hotel, but a lot of cafes around. Very friendly & nice service.
Good hotel, good location, getting a little bit dated though, more 1990 than 2010, but otherwise good.Very good, polite courteous staff. Alway willing to offer help.
This whotel has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The staff could not be any more friendly or efficient, and location of the hotel in the Union district very convenient for all I wanted to do. I would definitely stay there again, and again, and again. Exceptional value for money.
Great location for shopping and theatre in SF. We walked everywhere. Relatively close to BART as well.
I can recommend the Donatello Hotel.Although the room interiors are slightly dated, there is nothing I can fault the hotel for.The staff were very friendly and always quick to respond to our requests. And the club facilites on the top floor were great as our flight was late at night,so we were able to enjoy a full day sightseeing and then return to a lovely shower & spa prior to our departure. As for location,it was very handy and there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance.Overall,I would stay at the Donatello again.
Location of this Hotel is wonderful for sightseeing, because is it a heart of city centre, but the street is quiet. We caught it for 100 dollars, so it was great deal.
Excellent location with good rooms and facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.
Stayed at the Donatello May 8th 2009, it was fantastic. I had stayed across the street at the Marriott for a few days, saw the rate for Donatello on [website] and thought $125 / day was worth the price to go check this place out. The rooms are big, california king size beds. The most stand out memory was the service of the people working there. We needed late check out, extra time, etc and this was all done to amazing attentiveness. Definitely recommend and will go back there again.
Great value & location at this mid-sized San Francisco hotel.
Excellent hotel. Great room with comfortable, large bed and the best pillows in any hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel
Great location; close to Union Square, Chinatown, Market Street, etc., with easy access to cable car and subway transportation. Expected New York sized accommodations, but had a spacious room with couch & wet bar. Got a fantastic rate through [your website].
thought it was excellent value for money, great location, great rooms and all good.
