Good price, convienet location and friendly staff.
Good budget hotel for a short stay in Vienna. All staff were helpful and courteous. Hotel reasonably close to city centre and tram / train station (U6, Alse Strasse). Decent breakfast served with variety of cold/hot dishes. This hotel has a mascot, a pony sized black pooch called Silvio. Be careful not to stumble over him in the stairway hall. Only point to make is that Room 14 (single occupancy) had no heating in the bathroom. In winter this is less than attractive on a cold morning. On the other hand, it makes you linger less in the bathroom and spend more time productively expolring Vienna.
Hotel was located right outside a tram stop and within a 2 minute walk of the train station. The hotel itself is located in a somewhat seedy area, with many strip clubs and drunk youths. But as we were in the hotel by 9pm each night it was ok. Room was lovely and even included a chandelier but the walls were so thin between adjoining rooms we could hear EVERYTHING next door. Breakfast was a big disapointment, we went down at 8.30am and there was basically nothing left and nothing was refilled and the lack of available seating meant we had to stand and wait for a while before even getting a table. Service at front desk was friendly. But small front desk and the fact there was only usually one server meant waiting for a while before getting or returning room key.
Courteous and very helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Nice breakfast and excellent coffee.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Trolley bus stop outside hotel was very convenient. Good breakfast, basic room, lift very old but in good working order. I would stay again and recommend this hotel as good value for money.
The Hotel is on a very busy Street. Be sure to request a quiet room at the back of the hotel as the front rooms can be hot in summer and very noisy if the widows are opened
Good hotel, but a lot of noise
Breakfast is very satisfying.
Hotel is close to subway and 25min walking from centre, provides very good breakfast. Staff is friendly.
A pleasant hotel in a fairly good location. Rooms could be better but not bad for city location and price.
This hotel was very average and shows its age. The Bathrooms are dark and old and could do with a refurbishment. Room was not very well ventilated and lower floors are noisy, also only has 1 lift which is very small and slow faster to take the stairs.
The Hotel was good for this price, the breakfast also, but cleanliness should have been better, mainly in the room. The bathroom and the WC was very nice, we had a jacuzzi bathtube and seperated toilet, but my wife cleaned up the floor in the room, 'cos it wasn't cleaned by water. So, I recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again
Quite a nice but not luxurious hotel in a typical Viennese house (painted slate blue!) just opposite a tram stop and near the Alser Street subway station. Nice people, helpful and friendly. Perhaps a bit noisy at the corner of two very busy streets and at the side of a high subway line, but it was not a problem for us. Not a very central location, but with the tram line 44 one's in 5-10 minutes at the "Schottentor". With the subway line 6 very easily reached from the West railway station.
comfortable bed, good breakfast, hot water in bathroom and 20 min. to the old centrum.
The staff were very friendly, and the room was fantastic, brilliant value for money! Couldn't complain about a thing, a top class stay!
the central heating was cold and that was the reason why i got a cold; so 3 night at this hotel was in a cold atmosphere, even if i informed at the reception about that.
The Donauwalzer is not directly in the center of Vienna, but still in a great location as it very close to public transport stops that lead straight to the center in a few minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, although clean, was small.
I thought it was closer to the city center, but it was easy to get to once you know what street car or subway. It is by U-Bahn stop Alser Strasse. Overall, good service and decent lodging.
I enjoyed a very pleasant stay. The staff is friendly & helpfull, but the room was a bit small. The room was a bit noisy with people walking in the hallway or opening/shutting of doors, so I recommend using earplugs.
