"This hotel is very convenient for Tiananmen Square, Fobidden City, etc., which is good. The hotel itself is somewhat 'threadbare'. It seemed to be basically pretty clean, although furniture and fitting were rather worn. OK at the price ($65/night) for a couple of nights." - Thomas Mazour
"The location of hotel was accessible to all major tourist attractions which was handy. The staff were accomodating and very helpful. The only issue was that the bed was really hard." - Anonymous
"A very solid Chinese tourist hotel in a fantastic location near Tianamen Square. Rooms are fairly spartan. Our only real complaint was that the beds were as hard as a piece of wood. The concierge spoke good English and arranged a very pleasant driver (who spoke Mandarin) for us for a trip to the Great Wall." - Kraig Meyer
"For a 4-star hotel, the service wasn't very good. The front desk wasn't very helpful. They would look around in space and busy themselves as I approached the front desk. I was always the first to ask for help instead of them asking how they could help me. It could be due to the fact that only one or two of them could speak English. They probably didn't want to help the foreigners because it was too difficult for them.
I also ate in the restaurant on the 2nd floor and it seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. It took a long time to even get a menu and be seated at a table.
The only decent thing about this hotel is the location. It's a 5-10 minute walk from Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Mao Mauseloum, Front Gate. It's about a 10 minute walk to Wangfujing street. " - Anonymous
