Stayed in tower, 12th floor. Excellent view of turquoise shoreline and the hotel zone. Each restaurant had their own specialties, and we enjoyed them all. All staff went out of their way to be accommodating.
We had a fantastic experience at the Dreams Cancun Resort and highly recommend it to couples and families alike. Very customer oriented and excellent amenities (especially food). My hubby and I have not had the opportunity to travel much, but know that if and when we can afford another trip Dreams Cancun will either be the place or the place to beat!
Luxurious room with an ample balcony and ocean, lagoon or garden view. One four-posted king or 2 double beds. 360sqft. Bathrobes, slippers, iPod connecting alarm clock, 27" flat screen TV, DVD player (free DVD's available), daily stocked minibar (included!), 24/7 Room Service (included!)
Pros: - Incredible food; all restaurants were way above expectations for an all-inclusive - Location is excellent - short walk to the clubs and surrounded on 3 sides by water - Good rooms - Well organized, plenty to do - Dolphins were always happy to see you - Wait staff and bartenders and bellmen were professional, friendly and good at what they did Cons: - Very kid friendly, consequently there were a lot of families with kids. We were looking for something else but this may be a "pro" for you - Found the concierge to be rude - Pool was a bit underwhelming. The lagoon is a nice touch but appeared dirty compared to the great Cancun waters surrounding the resort In general, this is a quality place and was worth the value we got out of it. I'd probably consider other places next time only because my girlfriend and I would like to try an adults-only.
The experience was great, the staff was great, but.. There were a few that couldn't understand or speak any English and could have been helpful if they could. Most of them did very good and they all had very good personalities and were very personable. The Hotel was surrounded by water on 3 sides. We were on the bottom level and had a great view of the Dolphins and would sit on our balcony and watch them every morning. If you are planning on any adventures while you are there and not really planning on spending alot of time in your room, then I would suggest not worrying about an upgraded room. just go with the basic, they are still very good rooms.
The Hotel is located at the tip of the zone and it is pretty windy there every day. Our room was on the east side over looking the ocean. Really nice veiw. The room was comfortable, clean and the refrig. stocked every day. The maids came to clean once a day and then again at night to turn down the bed and leave the light on for you.Food was ok we sure didn't go hungry. I think the res. Oceana and Seaside Grill try to get to fancy with food presentation we prefer the simpler style. But you need to try them for a little variety as the buffet gets repetitious. The wait staff was second to none. We would go back .
I never had so many problems with flight info and vouchers ...In the future I will not be booking with you ! Your shuttle service was terrible and half your staff does not speak English... If you need someone who does ..hire me this was a complete disappointment.
Dreams cancun has wonderful restaurants. Especially I loved a japaness restaurant which has great sushi and sashimi. The location of hotel is also great.
The food was great but not many selections on places to dine. Over the eight day stay restaraunts on beach were closed (alterrnated closures), which resulted in limited choices.
The staff was very polite and curteous. Service was very quick and friendly. The location is ideal, with beach front on both sides of the resort, close to town if you want to go do that stuff but if you don't you would never know you're in the middle of town! I loved the dolphins on site and if we brought kids I'm sure they would love it, since all the kids there seemed to!
This trip was perfect. The food was excellent. The water and ice was filtered we didn't get sick not one time. The shops/clubs were in walking distance, five minutes. The dolphins on the resort was amazing and so was the ocean view from the room. The room was beatufiul and clean. Everything was perfect we will be back. The staff was so friendly and so much to do on the resort. They had tons of activities.
This was my and my husband's first trip and I was so very impressed. From the minute we stepped out of the airport there was a greeter that took us to the hotel. Once there, (for some reason) we were told we were in the VIP check-in. We walked over and immediately the hostess greeted us by name and thanked us for coming. We felt like total celebrites! Our room was very nice with a great view of the ocean out of the balconey and the side window. The only things that could use some improvements were the bathroom shower did not drain so we were taking a shower and a bath at the same time practically. Also, the wedding gazebo was directly below our room so we had to constantly hear the music and the wedding guests. But we figured hey it's someone's special day, we can endure the celebrations. The food was so-so, but the presentation was very pretty. The night lounge was wonderful and the music was great. I loved walking the grounds at night. AND the best part, the day of my husband's birthday we were out and about for most of the day, when we came back to our room there was a CAKE and champagne waiting! I was blown away! Now that we are looking to book our next trip, I am worried I won't find anywhere else that lives up to the great time we had at Dreams!
The service was phenomenal! Unlimited drinks and food all day...outdoor and indoor activities (for rainy days) planned...wedding had to be moved indoors due to weather and it was still gorgeous!! I would go back in a heartbeat!
Everything was perfect. The only issue is there seemed to be some leaks including in our bathroom. The staff did work very to fix them.
Although the rooms could use some updating, the staff and cleanliness made up for it. The resort was clean, food, and service was great. I will stay here again.
Beautiful beach resort , spacious rooms ,plenty and variety of tasty food and drinks ,excellent and friendly service all the times , worth much much more than the amount paid .
I enjoyed my stay at Dreams. It isn't the fanciest resort, but you'll get a pretty good value for what you pay, and the location can't get much better. I had an ocean view room, and the view was fantastic. It was so relaxing sit on the balcony, look at the ocean, and listen to the waves. If you're up by around 6:30, you get a perfect view of the sunrise. The room itself was fine. Everything was reasonably clean. There was turn-down service every night. The mini fridge was stocked with soda, water, and Corona. I noticed that the room felt a little damp (especially when I walked on the floor barefoot), but that may have been because the room was close to the ocean, and the weather was slightly humid. I was perfectly happy to relax at the beach every day, and the resort has two. One contains more activity: you can snorkel, kayak, and use floating rafts. The lounge chairs are very close to the water. The water was very clear, and you could spot fish in the water. The sand was also very soft. I didn't hang out at the other beach much because the lounge chairs were a little far away from the water. I noticed a couple of beach volleyball courts. I didn't use the pool because it was pretty small, and there weren't many lounge chairs available. All the chairs were taken by 9:00 AM. The pool contained a swim-up bar. The food was fine. I ordered room service one night, and the food arrived pretty quickly. The World Cafe, which is buffet-style, is open for all meals. There is a different theme each night: French, seafood, Mexican, Italian. I appreciated that they tried to incorporate a lot of variety. I always looked forward to dessert; there were a few pastry options for lunch and dinner. The Seaside Grill was decent. Himitsu, the Japanese restaurant, wasn't the best, but I wasn't expecting stellar Japanese food at a Mexican resort anyway. I didn't get to try Oceana, the seafood restaurant. The food isn't on par with Michelin cuisine, but I had no problem with finding food that I liked. During turn-down service, housekeeping gives you a sheet that tells you about the activities going on the next day. I didn't participate in many of the activities, but it seemed like the entertainment staff worked hard to make sure that there was always something available, day and night. For the most part, the staff was courteous. There is drink service at the beach and pool, and they always check up on you to see if you want anything. The staff didn't seem to expect tips; they didn't hover, and they seemed really appreciative when I gave them tips. That being said, give tips! It's the right thing to do. The service at the restaurants I went to (Seaside Grill and Himitsu) was a little more chilly, but no one was rude. Everyone I interacted with spoke at least a little English. The resort was family-friendly. There was a kids' club, and a lot of the activities were targeted toward children. You'll hear the occasional screaming and crying, so if you want to get away from kids, this isn't the resort for you. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Dreams. Since an adults-only experience is more my style, I will probably stay somewhere else if I return to Cancun. But Dreams is certainly a great option if you're looking for a budget-friendly, family vacation.
I was greeted with fast and good service upon arrival from the airport. The staff brought drinks for us while we were checking in and getting the hotel layout explained. The food was good and there are friendly staff members to answer questions if you have any. The resort is adult and family friendly, there are activities for everyone and you can also just relax and enjoy the view if thats what you choose. The whole time I was only wishing I would have had more time to spend at Dreams Resort.
This hotel is located at the end of the strip which means you get 3 parts of the ocean with a great view. It is also walking distance to the party life at the strip ;) I was disappointed with the staff at greyline who book all events for all orbits customers. They promise me $30.00 cash back if I would book a $140.00 event to swim with the dolphins. After I booked it and paid for it. they told me that the $30.00 can only be used by booking another event ;( The food is great ;) Coco Cafe is the best ;) The pool is small :( Bartenders are not friendly :( The entertainment staff is very nice. The comedy show was put together so bad that people were walking out. We also walked out. My daughters 6th grade class did a better job at the school play. Housekeeping supposed to clean the room twice a day.We were there for 6 days and the last 2 days are room was not clean in the evening nor did we get the activities for the following day.
Staff is courteous and friendly. Hotel is beautiful and relaxing. Food is good to great depending on the restaruant. Only negative thing is the hotel did not offer the credits we had for different amenites. When we remembered, it was too late to use any.
The hotel & staff were GREAT! Food was great! Perfect snack shack right by the pool, perfect to just grab a burger for lunch and not have to go anywhere or even change from your swim suite. 4 different restaruants to choose from! With it being off season there was one restaruant not open each night, which makes total since, but they provide a paper every night for you, with the daily activities and restaruants open for the next day, so you can plan ahead. They had wonderful activites for all ages. Pirate Show and Fire Show were AWESOME! Swim up bar is the best bar ever! Someone was always working on cleaning the grounds and hotel house keeping was great! Will definitely come back! Go outside the hotel front door to book tours, the people in the hotel are timeshare sellers! We booked our snorkeling tour just by walking out the front door and down to the left and there are a few small offices that book tours for you! It is connected to the hotel! Did not bring the kids this time, but already planning our next trip with them. Resort had a very well rounded age group.
