Good value for money. A good choice if you don't mind a somewhat mediocre outfit. The only thing I found a bit disconcerting was the rather haphazard approach to security: guest could fetch and hang up their keys themselves. So: best not to leave valuables in your room!
With a 2-star hotel, I'm really looking for only 4 things: a roof, a bed, running water and space for my gear. This hotel provided all those, so I've nothing bad to say about it. Lots of internet callshops nearby and also those kebab restaurants. You'll not be hungry. Only unusual thing is that I was charged upon leaving, rather than arriving. Not sure if it is the standard for this hotel but just thought I should mention it.
A non-pretentious hotel, near the heart of Lyon. Within walking distance of a very large number of restaurants and activities. Altogether a very good choice.
Very basic and old rooms. Good breakfast. Good location and good value for money.
Average hotel not in the best part of town. Rooms were medium size and with large bath. A little daggy inside. Staff were very helpful though.
This hotel was easy to find using the directions given, Room was good - and as per my order through [your website]. Staff were a little wooden but professional. My expectations were met having read the reviews on [your website]. Was fine give I stayed only the one night on my way from Paris to Milan. Could stay there again in the future.
The hotel is close to the tram stop and it's convenient to travel. The staffs at the reception during the night and holiday were not friendly, but the manager was very kind and polite. Breakfast was good.
This hotel is very misrepresented in many of the reviews that are extremely negative. Du Helder Hotel is a basic hotel that functions more than adequately. And the location of the hotel seems to be a problem for those "tourists" who want a disneyland experience of a city. The mix of people, stores and restaurants in the hotels vicinity is part of the Lyon experience. I am very happy I stayed at this hotel.
Generally good but could do with a freshen up on the upper floors and bedrooms. Also, staff generally helpful except one of the overnight staff who could do with some training in customer service.
A good hotel, reasonably priced and with a friendly staff. Worth mentioning also is the fine breakfast buffet. Recommended.
Good hotel for his price. Evening/night staff at the reception could be more friendly.
The bed was a bit small but the bath was huge. The hotel room was sweet and cosy and the breakfast was abundent and tasty.
Decent, no-frills place. Nothing fancy, such as cable TV or Wi-Fi, but OK if you just want a bed and a clean bathroom.
Good value for monney.
Value for money, clean. Limited breakfast.
Clean bed, clean shower, excellent price/performance.
The room I had was a twin double and was suitable a couple of nigths only. The location looked interseting and needed exploring. Breakfast was included in the price and the restaurant was okay. What was on offer okay. Not cooked. Some interesting architecture in the buliding. Overall satisfied.
