This would be better classed as an excellent 3 star hotel rather than a poor 4 star one. The location is a bit of a let down - not because it is out of the way as the metro is only across the road but because there is little else around it and unfortunately the hotel prices tend to reflect the lack of competition. That being said we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay there and the staff were all very pleasent. I would recomend this hotel to those who are comfortable using the public transport system and those who are prepared to go off the neaten track a bit.
Room was clean but had a peculiar smell as though the plumbing wasn't quite right. Food in the hotel was good and reasonably priced but some of the staff were rather abrupt and impatient. All in all it was worth the money and i would use it again.
the rooms were nice the staff helpful, the place was clean, there was hot water for showers and noise levels were quite. they have a couple places to eat and they are close to one of Pragu's biggest malls.
too far out of centre. tram service very good but finished too early. nothing happening in hotel, quite dull at night. Leisure facilities expensive
I stayed at the Hotel Duo from late July to early August 2008 and found the Hotel to be an ideal location and base for visiting and sightseeing Prague. The Hotel service was excellent, having all the facilities necessary for a comfortable short visit. Also, having a Metro line station just accross the road from the hotel, made access to the city centre very easy. Only 10 minutes journey time. The hotel staff were always very helpfull, (English Speaking) giving directions and travelling advice along with booking of Theatre and Metro tickets.
The hotel is a not in a city center but very conveninetly just outside metro station so in 20 min you are in town. It has few restaurants inside for late arrival dinner and very good breakfast!
A very proper 4-star hotel with good facilities. I liked the bowling alley!
3 of us 30 somethings enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Duo. The Duo is kept very clean. The rooms are basic but adequate. There is a wide variety of nicely cooked food at the buffet breakfast. The facilities at the Duo are very good such as a gym, swimming pool, massage and ten pin bowling. It is adviseable to book the use of facilities a day in advance because of the demand to use them. The Duo is only a 5 min walk from an ultra modern and stylish metro train station. You need to buy a ticket before entering the platform. The Duo and the tobacconist at the station sell 1 day and 3 day tickets (a 3 day ticket costs £18 for unlimited use of public transport throughout Prague). Trains arrive every 6 mins and within a 10 min journey you can be in the centre of Prague's retsaurants and bars (the Museum stop) or if you travel in the opposite direction you can arrive at a bus station where you can catch a courtesy bus for a short journey to at a new shopping arcade which has over 100 stores.
Couldn't fault this hotel. Although it was not in the city centre, transport service was excellent with the addition of a free taxi bus to the local metro station. A new station is being built across the road from the hotel but the bus and tram service is excellent in the meantime. I would definately stay at this hotel again and am recommending it to anyone visiting Prague in future.
Basic, but clean, warm and very reasonably priced. Transport links excellent (catch the bus from across the road) and very cheap. The facilities were very good, gym, pool and excellent massage therapist for a fantastic price. Several restaurants to eat in with varying prices, not very good for veggies though! Overall the cost (£34 for a double room) was excellent value for money and I would highly recommend this hotel. I intend to visit there again in the summer.
THE BEDS IN THE ROOMS AND BEDROOMS IN GENERAL WERE QUITE DISSAPOINTING FOR A 4* HOTEL, BUT OTHER THAN THAT THE REST OF THE HOTEL I.E. SERVICE, FOOD, SPORTSCENTRE, CASINO ETC WERE VERY NICE, WOULD DEFINETELY CONSIDER GOING BACK!
Rooms basic but comfortable. Excellent lobby, bar and restaurant area for relaxing in the evening. Breakfast choice excellent. Public transport an absolute breeze to use so don't worry about the hotel location being out of town.
The hotel was very comfortable and cosy, the food was excellent. the staff were friendly. I could not fault anything. except I would have thought the swimming pool would have been free to the hotel guests. I certainly would return to this hotel
Good price ( disappointed that double was two singles together) About 15 mins from city centre but very easy and very cheap with two bus stops and four metro stops (bus stop just across the road from hotel) Rooms very warm which was nice in a very cold February Prague. The hotel sports centre very good and cheap. Generally all round the hotel is good and good value for money - if you shy away from room mini bars and the likes but these rates are high in any hotel.
