Getting there:From The North Take the city centre exit on the motorway entrance to Tauranga, turn left at the traffic lights at Elizabeth Street onto Cameron Road. We are approx 1 km down the road on the right hand side. From The South From 15th Avenue, turn right into Cameron Road. Continue down Cameron Road until you see Elizabeth Street and follow the above directions.
Check-in Procedure:Reception is open from 7am to 9.00pm during the week and 8am to 9pm weekends and Public Holidays. If you need to check in any later or earlier than the set hours, please let us know in advance. Thankyou. Please note - all rooms are "no smoking" rooms!
Car parking:We have FREE city centre parking, and there is a numbered car parking space available for each room . Why drive? You can walk anywhere in the City Centre from the Durham - it really is a superb location...
Child Policy:The Durham is great for families, so children are very welcome, although for safety reasons must be accompanied by an adult around the swimming pool area. Extra guests agreed by the motel are charged at an extra $20 each per night. There is a $20 charge for a roll-away bed. This is paid directly to the motel. We are sorry, we have a "no pets allowed" policy.
Very close to the central city and restaurants. The grounds were well looked after with good off street parking and our room was clean,comfortable and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.
Great location and including a minibar is a nice touch. The room and furnishings were acceptable. The toilet and shower were ok but could do with being modernised. Air conditioning would be an improvement. It was humid and the room was quite stuffy by the morning.

Friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to find further information about local sites of interest for us. Quiet place to stay, great spa bath and very comfy bed. Would be good to have had sky TV and a bigger TV, and the couch was not the most comfy. But over all a great place to stay and so close to town. Thanks very much.

Easy and cheerful check-in. Nice studio room. Only downer is the poor shower - inadequate pressure. Possibly need to enforce parking discipline - the clown next to us decided to overlap two parks. Would happily stay again, though would hope the shower could be improved.
Most of the aspects of the hotel were good. The person working at the desk was fine upon checkin but later becase extremely rude when I asked her for some help.
The hosts were very helpful. I was a little surprised at the 'averageness' of the room, given the rate charged. For example, I have stayed in accommodation that charged lower rates and provided more in-room benefits such as (plastic) shower caps, tissues, soap for bath as well as hand basin. I had specifically booked this property to have a spa bath but was disappointed when it broke the first night we stayed; again, the male host was fantastic about it and fixed it, but I didn't risk using the spa after that in case it broke again. I was also surprised that there was only a push-in button lock on the door - the addition of a chain lock would have been beneficial, especially when travelling with a child who could have unwittingly unlocked the main door & got out into the carpark (or beyond). The location was fantastic, very easy walk to the main shopping/restaurant district and reasonably quiet. Would stay again - if the rate was more in keeping with what is offered.
The room was clean and very adequate for a one night stay. The location is within easy walking distance of the numerous cafes and restaurants. The only draw back is the rooms are not heated and when you go in July and the temperature is low the one lone portable heater does not heat up the room quickly!
The shower pressure was pretty shocking for a hotel at this price we thought. Also we didnt appreciate guests smoking Right outside OUR unit, neither to see the owners doing the same! A drop of sun in our unit would have been lovely but otherwise all was fine
