"The hosts were very helpful. I was a little surprised at the 'averageness' of the room, given the rate charged. For example, I have stayed in accommodation that charged lower rates and provided more in-room benefits such as (plastic) shower caps, tissues, soap for bath as well as hand basin. I had specifically booked this property to have a spa bath but was disappointed when it broke the first night we stayed; again, the male host was fantastic about it and fixed it, but I didn't risk using the spa after that in case it broke again. I was also surprised that there was only a push-in button lock on the door - the addition of a chain lock would have been beneficial, especially when travelling with a child who could have unwittingly unlocked the main door & got out into the carpark (or beyond). The location was fantastic, very easy walk to the main shopping/restaurant district and reasonably quiet. Would stay again - if the rate was more in keeping with what is offered." - Anonymous
"The room was clean and very adequate for a one night stay. The location is within easy walking distance of the numerous cafes and restaurants. The only draw back is the rooms are not heated and when you go in July and the temperature is low the one lone portable heater does not heat up the room quickly!" - Nancy Pirner

Also we didnt appreciate guests smoking Right outside OUR unit, neither to see the owners doing the same!

We are a short stroll to shops and cafes, restaurants, nightlife and city centre businesses. 20 fantastic ground-floor rooms, with cooking facilities/microwaves, most with LARGE SPA BATHS. Sky TV, in-room breakfasts, ''heat and eat" meals available in-room, Wireless Broadband internet access available, mini-bars, plunger coffee, tea/coffee, hairdryers, clock radios, iron/ironing boards. We are located right in the city centre, behind Baycourt, opposite the Domain, next to the courthouse.

Take the city centre exit on the motorway entrance to Tauranga, turn left at the traffic lights at Elizabeth Street onto Cameron Road.
We are approx 1 km down the road on the right hand side.
From The South
From 15th Avenue, turn right into Cameron Road. Continue down Cameron Road until you see Elizabeth Street and follow the above directions. |

Why drive? You can walk anywhere in the City Centre from the Durham - it really is a superb location... |

The Durham is great for families, so children are very welcome, although for safety reasons must be accompanied by an adult around the swimming pool area.
Extra guests agreed by the motel are charged at an extra $20 each per night. There is a $20 charge for a roll-away bed. This is paid directly to the motel.
