Dusit Island Resort Chiang Rai hotel is situated on an island in the Mae Kok River that flows through central Chiang Rai. The resort is close to Chiang Rai City Center, and provides a gateway for exploring the northern region. Guests can have easy access to the mountains, forests, rivers, ancient temples and colourful hilltribes, as well as other famous attractions. The hotel's decor and furnishings also reflect the cultures of northern Thai styles. The Mae Kok River provides a spectacular natural backdrop visible from all the guest rooms, as well as from the rooftop restaurant, The Peak.

We have stayed here before & found the service to be as good as before. The quality of the accomodation, the food and the facilities are all ecellent and we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to base themselves in Chaing Rai. On this stay whilst we were there, it was one of the groups birthday and the hotel provided, free of charge, a beautiful birthday cake with candles as a surprise.

The hotel is located on a river island on the fringe of town, but does provide an hourly shuttle service for 20 Baht (approx. 50 US cents) per person. Last shuttle into town leaves at 9 p.m., last shuttle from town to the hotel at 9.15 p.m.

The Dusit Island Resort was only minutes from the centre of Chiang Rai but yet was completely secluded from the hassle of the town. Located on its own Island, and with majestic views of the Golden Triangle, the Dusit Island Resort offered the visitor a complete range of facilities and the five star service that one would hope.
