"The Duxton Hotel was, to say the least, an unpleasant experience. Our first contact with the hotel, the front desk, was most unsatisfactory. The young lady on the desk was unfriendly and unhelpful and there appeared to be no record of my booking despite the fact that I had a booking number and had contacted the hotel presonally to ensure that all was in order. The staff had to go into a back room to search for the booking, and, as it was a present to my friend, made me look quite foolish. We had a 2 night booking, on the second day we were unable to access the room because the room card had been cancelled, again, a stuff up with the booking.I visit Perth a lot, and have numerous friends there. It is in the highest degree unlikely that I will ever stay at the Duxton again, and I will certainly NOT recommend it to anyone travelling to Perth.

"Mattress protector was stained.
Broadband internet not available in all rooms.
Tap water had slightly sewagey smell and because of this bottled water should be provided at no cost." - Richard Kean
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the staff, without exception, to be friendly and very willing and helpful. The only criticism I would make (and its minor) is when we partook of the High Tea at 2.00pm. The tea itself, the staff and the service were very good. However, it was served in the main dining room at the time when the indian buffet was being offered and the smell of the indian food did not sit well with the high tea. It was too overpowering. Also a more intimate setting would have been more in line with the idea of an old fashioned English High Tea. Despite this, we had a great time and would stay there again when in Perth." - Frances Bizeray
