I've been to more exciting 5 star hotels in my time. The room was a good size, if just a large standard international hotel room. There was no safe in the room, which I found unusual. All the extras were expensive - eg WiFi, car parking: I used the local MetroMesh Wifi, and public car park round the back which were both much cheaper - even though I like 5 star luxury, I'm not going to pay over the odds! Located very close to, but not in the centre of Perth (walking distance 15 mins). No real views of the Swan River - except from a few rooms, and you pay for those. Didn't use the pool, so can't comment.
Was very impressed with the level of service. The rooms were very large and clean.

We stayed at the Duxton 27/12/10 and could not fault the hotel. We rebooked this hotel after staying there at the same time last year.. The service is fantastic the club rooms are very clean and spacious and the facilities of canapes and pre dinner drinks in the evening and breakfast are excellent as are the views of the swan river from the lounge.. Definately recommend this hotel. Car parking is $35 per day
The Duxton lived up to its reputation of being a high class hotel but also being on a good price level for what you get. The service from the staff was immaculate and it is the first time I have heard staff address me as "sir" within Australia. It is good to see that traditions are upheld for good service and standards. The room was spacious with a great bed that wasn't too soft nor too hard and with a great bathroom with a huge shower it was a delight to stay overnight with my fiancee. We had a great time and can encourage everybody to give it a try even if it is not the cheapest price, we will certainly be back again at another time.
A good Hotel, with excellent Service. The Hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and with smiles. Would go back there again. Recommended.
great location centre of Perth, breakfast one of the best we have had in Perth Hotel, good selection and food hot, good service, good pot of tea, and good coffee
Would highly recommend this hotel. Staff are very friendly and in a great location.
This was my first stay at the Duxton and the staffs efficiency and friendliness were exemplary. The little touches made the hotel feel more homely one negative the room i stayed in room 608s furnishings were a bit worn and obviously the room may need a makeover soon well done to all the staff for an excellent stay and i will see you again very soon
good location, service exellant, will return again.
staff very good, pubic hair in the bathroom&shower, musty smell in the room & in the pillows, not sound proof rooms complaint made by nextdoor at 9.30pm, over priced drinks at bar&meals $2.50 tub of ice come on should be complementary& $35 parking no deals for club members, catch the train next time
great hotel - always come back and stay here on business
The Duxtyon is the Hotel you stay in when you want service and pampering, to be made feel important. An excellent location and staff who can respond to your needs, even to providing more tea for the caddy, sending a service person when the TV wouldn't work, delivering and picking up our luggage for the car and loading it when you pay your bill. Nothing seemed too much trouble Will definitely return on the next trip to pERTH.
Great hotel - great gym
This hotel was very nice to stay at, Very comfortable and was ready for us to checkin when we arrived even though we were 5 hours early for check in. It was great to be able to settle into our room before heading out for the day, knowing we didnt have to come back and unpack after our day out made our day in Perth even better.
excellent hotel - well positioned - service always good.
The Duxton is a nice hotel, however the room I stayed in was quite old and dated. I was lucky enough to get the room for 60% off, (courtesy of Last Minute Hotel Deals), so I would not have normally stayed there for the full price. Overall, service was fantastic and the facilities were great.
The hotel was lovely, great staff and service was really good. We had a wonderful time, Thanking you very much.
Service was wonderful. Staff extremely friendly
The Duxton Hotel was, to say the least, an unpleasant experience. Our first contact with the hotel, the front desk, was most unsatisfactory. The young lady on the desk was unfriendly and unhelpful and there appeared to be no record of my booking despite the fact that I had a booking number and had contacted the hotel presonally to ensure that all was in order. The staff had to go into a back room to search for the booking, and, as it was a present to my friend, made me look quite foolish. We had a 2 night booking, on the second day we were unable to access the room because the room card had been cancelled, again, a stuff up with the booking.I visit Perth a lot, and have numerous friends there. It is in the highest degree unlikely that I will ever stay at the Duxton again, and I will certainly NOT recommend it to anyone travelling to Perth.
The staff were helpful and pleasant.
