In the past 6 yrs I have stayed at the elcozumeleno 6 times. This past trip just reinforced to me that I will stay there again. I have stayed at several other hotels also. The cleanliness of the resort and friendliness of all staff are superb. The food was better than last time I was there. Snorkeling was o.k. For families with small children and teenagers it is the best value. Food is available for them at all times. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a great trip at the Coz ... just like we did summer of 2010!! Great setting and snorkling, excellent staff, and comfortable resort. They need to upgrade a bit, but we had an excellent vaca =) It would be nice to get a larger variety of beer and liquors (draft Dos Equis gets old), better quality wine, and real glasses rather that little plastic cups, but this by no means impaired our good times. Pool was cold =( but the ocean was great!!! The buffet was hit and miss, but we always found edible stuff. The resevation restaurant was delicious... and we did venture out to eat and drink several times. I would recommend this hotel, no prob!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here for our honeymoon. It's located away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown but it's not too far away either, about $7 one way for a taxi. The beach area isn't huge but nice enough and they have two great pool areas which are very relaxing. The staff was great and my husband became good friends with some of the bartenders-which made for some great drinks. The food was pretty good as well. The buffets usually had some main staples everyday but other than that they would switch it up. The reservation restaurant was really good as well, service a bit slow, but the food was excellent! They would change the menu at least every other day. If you book any activities go though the travel agent at the hotel instead of meeting with the other random agents. We booked all of our activities through the hotel’s agent which worked out really well because he was there almost every day so if we had questions he was there or would ask about our trips, unlike the other agents who you only saw once when booking your activity. It was also nice that they had activities during the day such as dancing lessons, making friendship bracelets, Spanish lessons, bingo, trivia, or beach volleyball that you could participate in. Also, at night they would have a movie or cultural show. My one complaint would be that the beds were very stiff.
The food wasn't too good, but the attention was great.
Location and staff are excellent. Themed evening shows were presented for entertainment every week night. Low point was the food. Generally it was the same most nights and tasteless. Bar drinks available are very limited and you can probably count on one hand.
Great atmosphere for the race. Great relaxing place to recover
The hotel is VERY nice! I loved the staff over at the Cozumeleño, they were super thoughtful and the service was great! The menu at the main restaurant was a little tiring, they only change the manu every so many days, we ate the same food every single day of our stay.. Don't get me wrong, it was GREAT food, but just eating the exact same thing every single day was a little boring.. They do have one restaurant were you need tu make reservation and dress properly for dinner, and that place is really worth it! we enjoyed a lot eating there! Overall the place is great! I'd love to go again to Cozumel and stay at the cozumeleno, the staff really makes everybody fall in love with the hotel.. and the beach is perfect! I loved doing snorkel there! :) I have to say though, that the cozumeleno is a very family-oriented hotel, is perfect for families with small children because they offer a lot of activities for kids.
The weather was perfect. The staff is always there to serve and ensure that your stay is wonderful. The food is average. The buffet does not vary much. The snorkeling is great right off the beach. The coral is beginning to grow back. Wonderful to see. It is easy to get to town from the front of the hotel.
The staff is wonderful. They know your name right away and bring you drinks with out asking. They are always cleaning. The food is average, but good for the value. Beautiful beach with lots to do.
It was our first time at this resort and we had heard mixed reviews. I am so glad I experienced it first hand. The hotel is lovely and is very well maintained. The staff were almost too good to be true. They were there to assist us with our every need and made us feel like family. The activity staff went the extra mile to keep us entertained. I celebrated my birthday while there and they gave me a gift, sang happy birthday to me and had a special dessert in my honor. It was such a great vacation that we plan to return. The only down side was the ATM wasnt working and getting US dollars was difficult. We know how to handle this next time and that will not keep us from going back. Thanks to everyone at this resort and thank you Cheap Tickets.
The location was good. The food was terrible. The rooms were cleaned. It was good for 1 night.
