You need a car for the ski slopes which takes only 10minutes good hoteland pleasant staff very little english spoken here but good hotel would definitely go again Mrs almond March 2008
A very good value for money hotel, clean rooms although they did smell a little damp but they were fine. A good choice for breakfast anf for a meal in the evening. The beef on the menu was a little vague as i didnt realise you had to cook it yourself at the table on an iron skillet, but ti was absaloutley gorgeois and is to be highly recommended. The staff were great although their english was next to non existant so take a phrase book! A|ll in all a jolly good time was had by all.
The hotel and location was superb, the only downside was the food. The restaurant menu is very limited, and expensive for the quality of food you recieve
Very basic 2 star hotel. From outside it looks quite miserable but it is fine inside and the staff were helpful. Rooms and bathroom very clean, bed was comfortable. It is high up in the Sierra Nevada so you must have a car. The restaurant was quite expensive, but as it is in the middle of nowhere we had no choice.
El Guerra hotel is located in the Sierra Nevada near Granada and the Alhambra. It is at the mountainroad between Granada and the Sierra Nevada. When using a GPS you can find the right road but it has no number so you have to drive the road for several km's untill you arrive there. A better direction would be helpful. The hotel is basic but nice. Rooms are specious but can be very warm in summer. Outside pool is large and clean. One advice: learn to speak Spanish befor you arrive here while the staff hardly talks anything else. This can be difficult
The hotel was in a good location for my requirements and the bedrooms were very clean and well maintained. I was not happy with the facilities available to me when I returned from a hard days skiing, what I wanted as a tired pensioner, was a comfortable lounge where I could sit and read and enjoy a drink, the one that was available had some comfortable chairs and a nice fire, but was in essence a games room for children. Similarly there were no chairs in the bedroom, which could have accomodated a small armchair, and would have made all the difference. As my Spanish (and French) are limited, a better standard of English by the staff would be appreciated, some had none at all in the restaurant area. Having said all that I would seriously consider returning to the El Guerra if I go to the area to ski again. .
had a lovely time there, wil be going again in feb for skying
Excellent location and a very welcoming hotel. Would definitely use again.
A quiet family hotel - clean and warm.
Stunning location at 2250m! Very easy to find even if there's no map available, just follow the signs for Sierra Nevada, there's only one road. Meals in the restaurant were good quality and fairly priced, bar is well stocked. You'll need a car as you're 20km from Granada and 10 km from the top of the mountain (3000+m).
Good value hotel, great location, 2.5kms up the mountian, halfway between GRANADA and the Ski areas. Not just a winter venue!
Comfortable, very clean room and excellent service. Location simply superb, with fantastic views of dramatic scenery. Food good (if a little pricey for Spain). The only criticism we had was that the hotel doesn't look much from the outside (and a discarded mattress propped against the front wall didn't help with the overall appearance!). Overall, excellent hotel and fantastic value for money. Would stay there again without any hesitation.
Good hotel with nice, big rooms and great breakfast buffet. It's a 20 minute drive to the ski-area.
Very clean, rooms a little small but decent. location is nice - close to both ski area and granda. Would stay there again for the price.
Very nice hotel, excellent restaurant.
