Just opposite the Victoria Terminus. They use very bad and strong smelling pills to kill the insects or germs or whateverall over the room and in the bathroom, even in drawers. Couldn't breath before we got rid of them. On the other side is the noisy street, on the other side a factory view very close. Otherwise ok and clean, personnell was friendly.
Clean with helpfull staff. Food is only available through room service because there's no common dining/meeting area. Noisy because right above main intersection but nothing earplugs won't block out. Internet access available in hotel business centre @ 50 R/min. Laundry returned on same day. Local shops either side of hotel entrance are convenient. Interesting Hotel renovations - suspect it may have originally been a warehouse with 14 foot ceilings so they've put in mezzanine to provide two floors which means you have to duck under the beams on the second floor and the windows are at ground level in the rooms! Located 30 metres from McDonalds - look for red pavers to lead to entrance.
Stayed in Empire Royale Hotel in Mumbai (2) nights. Pros: Place was fairly clean and I did not mind no view. Bed was above average. A/C was good. The front desk staff was half time surly and half time very nice. Cons: They charge you in (10) minute intervals for internet service. And, the bell-hops, door staff, and all other attendants have this most unpleasant habit of--whatever they do (showing you how the A/C works, showing you how hot water operates, bringing a receipt to your room, bringing clean towells to the room), they just stand there and wait until you tip them (every time). And, they won't leave until you do. Apparently they've been trained by hotel management to do this, as other hotels in India do not pursue these same actions. Tipping is a nice thing to do often, but this panhandling 'every time' for the tinest of events is most annoying--even obnoxious.
my stay at the empire royale was excellent.the service was excellent and the staff were very professional.this hotel should be listed and definitely a 4 star. rgds b.ruthnum
the facilities was lacking hot water in the bathroom, other wise avarage facilities Breakfast was only available as roomservice, on a very small table using the bed and the only chair for seating.
The service at the hotel was excellent. The staff did all they could to make our stay comfortable and provide a warm welcome. The hotel is a step away from major attractions and central to all there is for Mumbai to offer. The hotel would benefit by having a dining area or cafe. The management does a great job in all aspects.
I was pleasantly suprised with the Empire Hotels interior (don't be misled by it's exterior)and it's central location - the best direction to locate the main entrance "100 yards south of McDonalds entrance (opposite CST railway station)" you'll see a couple of well dressed security guards ". For the uninitiated! Bombay (Mumbai) drivers are incessant horn blowers "either with or without good reason" - the hotel can't escape the inevitable penetration of this sound, although I expect there are probably some rooms that aren't as susceptible to the sound as others, alternatively bring ear plugs for your 1st night baptisim. That said the hotel staff are, in 99% of my personal experience, wonderful as is the in-room dining (extremley resonable & tasty) and accompanying waiter service. The hotel rooms are spotless. The business centre provides excellent web access and printing facilites. Enjoy Bombay...
No restaurant but room service only
The hotel was clean but they did not clean the room even though I had the "please make my room" sign hanging all day. Location was ok. Compared to the price level of India all the hotels are over priced
You get what you pay for - the external appearance of the hotel is bad - but internaly surprisingly nice - however single rooms are incredibly small - hot water system didn't work - height of ceilings favours small people only
