Empress Hotel Taipei

Friendly staff, good clean rooms and excellent value. About 10 minutes walk from the MRT, night market just around the corner.

(1) From airport, take Airbus #33 (cost NTD$90, very cheap) to Tai Tung university and walk one block and a half is the hotel. Very convenient. (2) Get around using MTR within 10-15 minutes, not bad. (3) Facilities is what you would expect from a 3 star Taipei hotel, reasonable pricing and services. (4) Room is tidy, has wired internet connection, hair dryer and plenty of cable channels. (5) Beware of using the hotel phones to call someone's local mobile#, very expensive. Try buy a local sim card to use on your mobile. (6) The breakfast is very good, enjoy it before going anywhere.

The staff there is friendly and especially Jim Seow. He extend his hand all the way to help us. Will check in to this hotel again if going back to Taiwan

The hotel is clean. It is value for money. The receptionists are very helpful. The breakfast included is simple but nice. It is near to a small night market and also near to a family mart which is very convenient for travellers. The only down side is that it is quite a distance away from the nearest Metro.

Small but cheap and well located.

Overall stay in the hotel is quite alright. Me and my friend enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Except that the distance from hotel to the MRT station. At first we thought the hotel was nearer to Yuan Shan MRT Station, but instead it is nearer to Min Quan Xi Road MRT Station. We have trouble finding the MRT station from the hotel and vice versa the first day. The hotel is quite quiet and clean, facilities are quite good and adequate, they even have hair dryer! Their breakfast is quite nice. It is recommended if you're staying for business trip or even pleasure. Except the walking distance to and from MRT.

One of the better cheap sleeps, except the room had a little bit of rising damp near the window and smelt a little mildewy.

The hotel was within 10 minutes of the subway st, bus to the airport was literally around the corner, loads of convenience stores,ATM's, a postoffice, and a small food arcade? mall than had all sorts of local dishes to feast on so I hardly left the area apart form going to museums. I always stay in much cheaper hotels but this time around it was money well spent. They have free internet connections in the rooms which was great! My room was a bit dark! Could do with a another light! Also the breakfast was ok but arrive early as it is not kept hot. All in all not a bad stay at all!

The place was very nice, near shuttle buses, very convenient going to airport and subway. everything was nice, except for the time when we were going to check in and we wanted a non-smoking room, they told us there were non available, but they made it possible and gave us a non-smoking room. all in all, i'd recommend this place to my friends and relatives.

it was a great hotel, not too far from min quan west mrt station. very close to a family mart too. breakfast, i suggest you go elsewhere. they do offer u a buffet breakfast, chinese style. other than that, this hotel is excellent.

The breakfast is simple and nice but could be better if fresh milk can be provided
