Getting there:From Santa Maria Novella railway station, walk out on the left side, cross the street and turn right. Then at the first street you reach turn left. Ester Hotel is Large Alinari no. 15 at the beginning of the Nazionale street. It is a two minute walk from the station.

Lovely little hotel, lovely staff, if you are after a simple little hotel this place was fantastic.

The room is a bit shabby, but quite good for value.
Very friendly staff - Parking could be very tough since its a central location - Parking is arranged by this hotel on another hotels parking lot. In general, very good value for money. Nice small library and free internet
The top floor loft of the Ester is a double with an AMAZING view of the Duomo (Florence cathedral). That alone made our stay great! Not luxury, rather bare, but the staff is very helpful for directions, etc. Free Internet access in lobby. 2-3 minute walk from the train station. 10 minute walk to the Duomo and 15 to the Uffizi. Restaurants all around. And an excellent price! We really enjoyed it!
