Eurostars El Coloso Hotel Madrid

Briliant location, the only gripe was alack of room service in the evening. Other than that fantastic value and very highly recommended.

The room was a big disapointment. The staff was extremely friendly and really far above the average. The breakfast was as well above average. It is only the room that made it such that i would not go back.

We stayed in the hotel for the long weekend late in January 08.This hotel is in a very good location. 2 minutes from the metro station and the main shopping street. Staff are friendly and helpful. We felt the bathroom was quite narrow. If you were a tall and big person you will have a problem near toilet area.

The rooms are in need of refurbishment and the building next door is being totally refurbished meaning that you are awakened at 8.0am by hammering etc. As they had overbooked we were accomodated in a sister hotel "Suite 33" just down the road which actully was nicer than the Colosos. Breakfast is 14 Euros typically continental with scrambled eggs and bacon available. Three metro stations are very close and alot of tourist attractions are within easy walking distance. The Metro system is very good but alot of stations are not disabled friendly.

This hotel is VERY noisy!!!

The room had seen better days and definitely could have done with a make over. Not a glamourous area but definitely in walking distance of all the main sites and easy access to the metro. unfortunately building work was going on next door which made it very noisy. The staff very were excellent and very helpful.

First of all, this hotel may have had the most friendly (without overdoing it) and helpful staff I have ever encountered, and I travel on business a LOT. English ability varies from good to excellent. My wife and I had a last minute price deal and the hotel was nearly full, so we were given one of the less desirable rooms at the back. Still it was fully adequate for all we needed, clean and plenty of space. 20 minutes walking gets you most of the centre-city attractions, and many good places to eat very close. Would definately return.

Good: Staff very helpful and friendly, good location from point of view of being close to the centre, Plaza de Espana, palace etc Bad: Room cold (heating did not seem to work) and very noisy, (particularly on Sunday/Monday nights)

Reception was really slow.we wait like half an hour for check-in.

Not a bad hotel but there was a lot of building work going on whilst we stayed so very noisey. The cheaper room rates seemed to be achieved by high charges for breakfast. Eu14 for a poor buffet.

THE hotel and staff fully merited the four star rating and may be nearer to five, the reception personnel were exceptional with help and advice,do not be put off with the initial view of the location it is a great central point for all the amenities we will be back.

L'hôtel était très bien. Bien situé, propre, salle de bain grande et clean. Seule remarque négative est par rapport à l'épaisseur des murs. Le soir pas de problèmes, pas de bruits. Par contre le matin (9.00 AM) on entend bien les voisins et les femmes de ménage. Dommage. Globalement ça reste une très bonne adresse. our info, nous avons payé 60 euros/nuit. Ciao a tutti.

great price performance in terms of location (minutes away - 10 to 20 - by walking to all atractive plazas and museums). very clean and highly maintaiend.

The hotel is conveniently located near the main street - Gran Via, and only minutes away from Plaza Espana metro station. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful; room is clean & spacious. Would highly recommend it to others.

I cannot fault the staff who are very friendly and courteous and found the breakfast offering to be good. The only issue i had with the hotel was the continuous noise from the street both during the day and at night (Madrileños like to party late!). If you are a light sleeper, request an off-street facing room.

Great location; good sized room - basic but clean; only downside is that the bathroom smelled funny.

In the middle of being renovated so no view! However, the location is excellent for major tourist attractions.
