A pleasant hotel, though I felt the staff at the front desk were a bit on the brusk side but, with things as they are in Portugal, perhaps they don't have much to be happy about. Meanwhile, the buffet breakfast was, for me, a little below the standard that one would expect from such a hotel. The hot selection was a bit limited with eggs only coming in the scrambled form, the bacon was a bit tasteless and the sausages were of those those awful mini-frankfurter type used in many southern European hotels. I didn't try the cold selection, but that all looked pretty standard as were the pastries. My main criticism of many hotels these days, of which the Eva is one, is their charging extortionate sums for an internet connection - I think they wanted Euro 2 for 30 minutes, which is unacceptably ludicrous. So I just drafted out my emails, went to local hot spot and sent them for free. I really don't understand why so many hotels who need business travellers, especially out of season, feel so at liberty to then rip them off for an internet connection which actually costs them peanuts. Annoying, and something which clouds one's perception of their overall service.
The hotel is generally very good. However, it is important to stress your basic needs, such as: patio. All rooms do not offer a patio, but will give one a much larger room instead. It really depends on your requirements. Front desk was very patient, and helpful, even though we did seem to have a language barrier at first. It all worked out well. I would stay here again, and recommend for others to do so too. The pool is worth at least one nights stay!
lovely central hotel for a 2or 3day stay in faro breakfast ok ask for asalt lake view at a supplement near airport 10 euro bus terminal next door train station 5 min walk stayed nov 17 to 20 weather ok by day cold at night
The location was perfect, staff - very friendly. The only thing we didn't like was the facilities in the room, the old carpet and the old furniture.. Otherwise, it's a good hotel. I'll come back to it if in Faro again in the future.
Great hotel but ask for a sea view as the other rooms look onto a busy street & bus station. Pool on the roof is great with super views of the wetlands. Free safe deposit box but there is a 15 euro deposit. Very near the town cnetre & warren of shops, resturants & cafes all very near too but only resturants open on a Sunday. 5 minute walk to the ferries & boats to Ilha Deserta (Desert Island) and boat tours in the wetlands. We ven saw a school of Dolphins!
Beautifull hotel on the marina, central to faro. Train station right next door. Bar at hotel, pint of beer €4. Comfy and clean rooms. Breakfast is superb, loads of choice. Easily the best hotel in Faro. The only things about the hotel was that there wasn't an indoor pool, only an outdoor one (but we went in february, I'm sure it would be lovely in summer). And in the bedroom the ensuite had a glass door so you could hear and see inside the bathroom not ideal if someone wants the toilet, but to be honest, thats just be picky as I couldn't really fault the place. Staff were really helpfull.
Amazing location and friendly staff. VERY close to the bus and train station, we neither needed a taxi to go the hotel or to go the bus. Amazing seaview and close the water trips. We had a great time. We plan to go back.
The only problem we had was the maid constantly throwing out our bottled water. Even bottle that we had bought & had hardly been touched. We had 2 rooms & after 4 days it added up.
Excellent hotel, friendly helful staff.
A very good hotel with a competitive rate, we stayed for 5 days and had no problems. just a relaxing time.
Although this hotel is located in an excellent spot, it is also very popular for big screen events in the city and with the past Europe 2008 Soccer where Potugal won some of the matches it was extremely difficuct to get any peaceful sleep before 04:00.
zeer aangenaam verblijf met zeer mooi uitzicht op de haven ,
This was our 2nd. time in this lovely hotel overlooking the Faro marina. Great evening meal and v. good breakfast
Nice hotel, friendly staff, Black and White TV in our room!
a very nice hotel and well situated very good for bus and train stations
We have stayed at this hotel many times. In the past year it seems to have been smartened up and is very pleasant. The staff are very helpful. Good value for money.
We found the hotel excellent in all respects
Second year at Eva Hotel, it is great if you want a relaxing break with no noise and just total peace and quiet. It is in need of a bit of a facelift now. We will probably return again in the next year or so.
We were impressed with this hotel as soon as we arrived. Excellent decor throughout, restaurant, bar, gym, beauty parlour, hairdressers, great choice at breakfast, piped music in the corridors, helpful staff, panoramic views of the harbour (ask for a harbour view), central, near railway station & above bus station. Rooftop pool was peaceful & very well kept with bar which served snacks. Rooms were clean, well kept with no complaints. We stayed a week & were never bored with a week of the Folk Faro festival, plenty walks, shops, eating places (avoid the Chelsea retaurant in town if you are hungry - food took an hour to arrive), boat trips to beaches & Ria Formosa - the Nature Reserve, especially recommend Ilhia Deserta, the blue & white camouflage style painted boat, excellent guide throughout explaining all the birds & history of the wetlands.
Good location in the centre of Faro. Convenient for the Airport. Good size rooms, friendly staff. Good size swimming pool. Breakfast very good.
