Evripides Hotel is in a great location where you get to feel "the REAL Athens" Very clean rooms, in fact spotless, clean linen. Good continental breakfast served on the 7th floor with great views of Athens. Surrounded by restaurants, walking distance to the Metro, Acropolis, Plaka and shopping, staff are fantastic and pleased to help you. I would return to this hotel. VALUE for money!!
The hotel was fine for a budget hotel. It was very clean with good facilities and the views of the Acropolis from my balcony and the rooftop terrace were fantastic. The only downside was the location. It is in an area quite close to various sites but the neighbourhood is very seedy with groups of males hanging around and drug deals occurring in broad daylight. I did not venture out at night as I was travelling on my own.
we enjoyed our stay and it is the first hotel in Athens that we will consider returning to .Although the area looks very run down it is interesting and there are many new ventures moving in. Being near to central tourist attractions, its position is excellent .we will return.
Great location even though the streets immediately around the hotel are a little "seedy". Rooms were good for the price with decent beds and bathroom and a small balcony. We walked to everything we wanted to see quite easily. We didn't go to breakfast at all so we can't comment on that.
It is a good and very clean hotel, and the staff is nice and very helpful. The facilities are average, although sufficent for any tourist. Breakfast buffet is just adequate, without any luxuries. The location is very convenient, at walking distance from Acropolis, Syntagma, Omonia, Psiri night life, and Monastyraky. However the area around the hotel is not pleasant, and near the hotel is one of the Athenas worst quarters.
Good
Room size and bathroom size was not bad. Both exceptionally clean. Breakfast not bad as breakfasts go in greece but made exceptional by the fantastic view from the 7th floor breakfast room which also was open and we used at night for a coffee/drink and wonderful acropolis view by night. Location of hotel was easy going 300m walk from Monastiriki metro (metro from the airport very easy and only ten euro for 2 single tickets Airport to Athens). However hotel actually in a bit of a seedy area but didnt really bother us as only walking to and from it anyway and we had no trouble and did not feel unsafe. Great local produce (meat, seafood and fruit/veg) market really close by and worth a look to get a feel for everyday life in Athens.
Rather tired hotel, looks much nicer in photos than in fact, but convenient and adequate.
The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was friendly. It did not automatically come with air conditioning, but you could use it for 5 euro a day, which wasn't that bad a price and since we were there in the middle of the summer, definitely worth it! The rooms did not come with a TV either. The resturant made the hotel worth it. It overlooked the Acropolis and at night, the view was just so beautiful and the drinks were very inexpensive. The worst part was the location of the hotel. It was near everything, however it seemed to be down a bad street. Once the sun went down, there were prostitutes out on the street and it was scary to walk down. We were there for three nights though and overall, as a young traveling couple in our 20s, the hotel was good to us.
The hotel seems to be in a strange neibourhood, but in fact it is pretty close to the attractions. And at night, it is by foot distance of Pryri that is a nice and young neibourghood to have dinner or go out. The breakfast is correct but by greek standard it is very good. The employees are helpful particularly Sonia in the morning. The only bad point is that you have to pay 5 Euros for AC, a must.
Good Hotel, with perfect terrace with very nice view on acropolis....
This hotel was truly excellent given the price. It's run by an extremely friendly and helpful family - any beach, restaurant or car rental they pointed us to merited the recommendation. The place is well-situated a bit out of Naxos town and a small walk away from a popular beach. It was clean, nicely designed - really a good find.
Not bad, not bad at all. Location-wise, just a short distance from the much-praised budget hotel Attalos and it's a whole lot cheaper. Be prepared for this short distance to be via graffiti-bedecked, rubbish-strewn and dark streets. (As an aside, I was rather shocked to find this description fitting many streets of Athens city centre, even the major ones. Graffiti is widespread. Even the pillars outside banks, normally such staid respectable places, are luridly 'decorated'. And I didn't see a single tourist-attraction signboard that was not defaced.) Breakfast is relatively good though it gets real boring after a while. Buffet style with cheese, ham, hard-boiled eggs etc. Walking distance to Acropolis, Monastiraki subway station and the market. A liquor store is just opposite. Also opposite are two shops serving great-value pork chops. Don't expect maps at reception though. Pick one up from the airport. We had to buy one for 7 euros.
Situated in a bad area of Athens, but at the same time very close to the bars and clubs.
