The hotel overlooks the beautiful and tranquil Queens Park which was constructed in memory of Mary Queen of Scots on the site of the famous Battle of Langside in 1568. The hotel is a short rail journey from the heart of Glasgow and only fifteen minutes by car from Glasgow International Airport. Excellent location for Hampden but this is a 2 star hotel, very run down, requires refurbishment. Although our room had an ensuite, the sink was not part of this facility, it was in the room! Very pricey at £90 per night but did include full Scottish breakfast. Apparently we were lucky to get breakfast as some folks who had been staying a few days didn't get breakfast each day. It was a bit disorganised.
This is a hotel in need of an upgrade. However, the bedlinen, towels, bathroom were white and clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Very good value
