Getting there:Arriving by train: Leave Cologne main train station on the cathedral side. Next go straight on into the Trankgasse, with Cologne cathedral on your left hand side. After about 200m you reach the EXCELSIOR HOTEL ERNST on the right-hand side. We will gladly escort you with your luggage directly from the station platform to the hotel. Arriving by car: You have an excellent approach from the A1, A3, A4, A57 und A59 motorways. From the departure from the motorway first follow the signs for "Köln-Zentrum / Hauptbahnhof". The EXCELSIOR HOTEL ERNST is situated directly by Cologne cathedral.

Car parking:Our valet will park your car in the video-monitored car park, and if required will also drive it out again (between EUR 22,00 and 24,00 per day).

Location is great near the dome and near central station. The stuff is very friendly. very nice room also. Hotel to recommend

A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location, right across the road from the cathedral and in the old town. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, v comfy beds and a nice big bathroom. The breakfast was good, a lot of variety although the hot food selection was small. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In all, a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent loctation in the city centre. Superb staff and service. Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms - minibar included in room pricing which is a nice addition.
Top-notch service, great room, amazing location - the staff were very helpful - I forgot my phone charger and they were able to provide me with a spare! Overall, just a great place to stay, especially if you're on foot and arriving/leaving via Koln HBF. Breakfast was excellent.
This is a very small complaint.In regards to the television remote it was very difficult to change channels with.The remote had to be very close to monitor and in a certain position.Otherwise no problems. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves at the hotel.
The first room we were shown to was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. Lights in the bedroom and bathroom were not working nor was the hairdryer. The curtains were dirty and the window did not shut properly. We complained and were shown to a much better room straight away. This room was wholly satisfactory and deserving of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was good although there were no hot items offered in the buffet.

Right in the heart of the city, this hotel is the perfect place from which to see Cologne. The standards and service are excellent and the breakfast a real treat.

Spacious rooms and old-fashioned individual attentive service makes a stay at this superior hotel a pleasure. Excellent location, close to the Bahnhof and right opposite the Dom.
We had a very pleasant stay in the Hotel, the New Year's eve gala dinner in the Hanse Stube was first rate, highly recommended
This is a lovely hotel that allows you to slip back in time to experience a little old world charm. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. They are also very modern. It is a perfect location, it is minutes from the station and from the front doors of the ancient Dom. I would recommend it.
The Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne is a lovely hotel that allows you to slip back in time to experience a little old world charm. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. They are also very modern with free internet via their computers in the business room and they do offer you the option to connect your laptop there to. It is a perfect location and only 3 minutes from the station and 2 from the front doors of the ancient Dom. I would recommend it.
