Faros Hotel Istanbul opened its doors in May 2006. This new 4 star hotel is conveniently located in the historical city centre, in the historical district, just minutes of walk away from the city's most remarkable attractions. Faros Hotel Istanbul has 23 rooms, 3 Suites, altogether 52 beds. Rooms enjoy views to the Sea of Marmara, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The breakfast is served at the Central Pub Restaurant. The Central Pub Restaurant is open 24 hours for the guests. All major credit cards are accepted.

Getting there:Driving directions from Istanbul Ataturk Airport: Turn right upon exiting the airport. Take the road named "Yesilyurt". Proceed for approximately 2 kilometers and turn left at “Sahilyolu”. Turn left at the traffic lights towards “Sultanahmet”. From front of the Hagia Sophia turn first left and follow the tram line to up, the hotel will be on the right side 100 mt. later.

The location was the best of the best. The staff was cheerful and helpful with a great command of English. The personnel at the adjacent restaurant & bar (where the breakfast was served) were really personable and fun. I don't know why other people have complained about their breakfast. It was plentiful and of good quality. Yes, there might not have been great changes from day to day, but the main egg dish did vary and, again I say, it was all good!

The hotel was great and very centeraly located in the old city, very close to the Blue Mosque. The service was great and the staff were helpful for organising tours for us. Close to food outlets and transport.
This hotel is in the perfect location for the historic part of the city, everything within walking distance. There is a tram stop outside the door and great for catching taxis. The family rooms are spacious and light but the twin room was very small and dark. Kept very clean but you could smell cigarette smoke as with a lot of small European hotels. There is only one restaurant and breakfast is limited especially after 8 days, but the regular menu for lunch and dinner was fine. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. We enjoyed our stay.
