Staff very helpful, nice location; a good value, on a budget
This is a good downtown Hotel, the rooms are big and clean. Furniture needs and upgrade other than that the room was good and everything works. I had requested balcony with a view and I was only able to get one after the manager came out to talk to us.
1 King Bed
2 double beds
The hotel is located 2 blocks away from the cathedral, in a very safe area, it can be kind of noisy because it's on a busy street. The staff was very helpfull and friendly, the only thing i didnt like is that there wasn't a blowdrier in the bathrroom and the water wasn't very hot.
Is a very good option for one night, Air conditioning is not so good as well as room internet acces, i had to go to the lobby to connect.
We had problems with the parking facility which is not on site. We were directed to a car park with very sketchy directions. After parking the car we asked atreception if we were in the right car park and this was confirmed. We'd paid 80 pesos for this 'free' service. 20 hours later we went to collect our car to be told that we owed 219 pesos as they did not have a parking arrangement with the Fenix! We had no choice but to pay it and then went to the hotel for recompense. At 2.50pm we were told that the manager was at lunch until 4pm and couldn't be disturbed and the receptionist didn't have the authority to make any refund. Eventually they agreed to refund 80 pesos we had originally paid but they couldn't pay the full car parking fee as we had parked in the wrong car park. A relatively minor additional expense was incurred but it was the principal that annoyed us. Also there was no coffee maker or hair dryer in the room which I would have expected in a 4* hotel.
Very, very convenient location. Happy with the service.Would stay there again. the only bad thing is that the Hotel doesn't have a Restaurant open for diner.
