Halcyon Hills surpassed our expections if you want a quite but beautiful location with friendly and very helpfull hosts, with clean and very comfortable accomodation this is the place to stay. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights , thoroughly enjoying the excellent breakfast included in the price only reservation we had was that we should have booked longer than the 2 nights we stayed there. Aleady recomended to Australian relatives as the place to stay in the Hunter Valley.

This was an excellent place to stay at. The two hosts were extremely hospitable, providing information on local sights. The accommodation could not be faulted and breakfasts set a benchmark few could equal and none surpass.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I expected the old fashioned type guest house where everyone is under the same roof sharing certain facilities such as lounge areas etc. To our amazment we were taken to our very own Villa with king size bed, outdoor area, lounge, coffee table, television and video AND our own kitchen!! It was so peaceful and only a 15-20 minute drive from Pokolbin. Broke is a lovely place. The Macadamia Farm, Olive Grove, Cow Cafe and I have to mention "Asylium Winery" The best Vehdelo ever made. It is an experience to go there and meet Elizabeth and sit on her porch and taste her wines! Halcyon Hills is well worth the visit, if only for James' homecooked Breakfasts.

We went away for the weekend to spend time together. We were treated like good friends would treat you in their own home. Halcyon Hills was far enough away to be semi secluded and close enough to all the wineries you could wish for. Great, private rooms and great relaxing views and great home cooked breakfasts.
