First Hotel Bangkok

Very good location especially now that the Airport rail link is up and running as the hotel is near to the Phaya Thai Station where the Airport rail link ends. It's also near to the Rachathewi BTS station and also walking distance to the Pratunum market, Central World, Siam Square, MBK etc. However, the cleanliness and condition is not to the "star" rating as the room at the main wing/block of the hotel is kind of run-down. Need to have somekind of renovation and upgarding works to upheld their "star" rating.

The front office was not very friendly, even though i booked a new wing single bed (queen) i was given a old wing room with two small beds. Was not vet clean. When asked they promised to give one next day as i was staying for two nights. It never happen. Disappointed!!! And at the check out there were errors in the billing as i booked online but they tried to charge local rate!

idealy situated for shopping in the local markets,straight across the road from the millenium centre a must for people into computers aand gadgets,and close enough to MBK shopping centre...good facilites as massage and health,,

I enjoyed the swimmingpool after a hot day out sightseeing

The hotel is a bit old and quite far from the main tourist attractions. It´s located on a very busy street, with huge shopping malls and a lot of traffic, although the rooms are quiet. Breakfast is ok. Good if you're on a budget, as it´s quite cheap.

Facilities and furnishings are moderately old. Good to replace chairs at Internet surfing area, as one arm of a chair is broken. Great location as it is near shopping areas and fast food outlets.

The hotel is located very close to the shopping centre. It was no problem to have baggage stored during our tripp to the islands.

Pros: Near Pratunam market, lots of food choices nearby eg: local food, burger king & swensons. Also 7-11 just downstairs opposite and a internet cafe right opposite too. Friendly service by all staff. Breakfast was ok. Cons: Old hotel, torn bedspread cover, very basic toilet, no water boiler, weird smell sometimes. Overall I would say the price i pay for the standard is fair enough, I may stay there again.

First Hotel might consider upgrading the mattresses and pillows

The toilet was leaking and at times it smelled badly. Mattresses are old and lack proper support. The carpet, though tolerable, looks like it has not been washed for years. In terms of breakfast, it was healthy and good value for money.

Registration/ check-in was quick. Hotel staff were friendly & willingly to help with our enquiries. Their porters were helpful & friendly. The porters were very initiative & immediately helped with our luggages the moment we stepped into the hotel's entrance & also helped with our luggages up to our hotel rooms. Breakfast was delicious with a reasonable variety of foods. Rooms & bathrooms were very clean! The swimming pool was located in a nice cosy area & clean too. The location was very convenient. The 7-11 convenience store, nai lert market, pratunam market, mongbok shopping centre & many other major buildings & tourists spots in the city were all within walking distance. I would certainly recommend first hotel to travellers who want affordable & good service hotels. It's location is a huge plus if you want to save on transport costs.

Had difficulty with the language barrier. Some of the staff were afraid to talk to me because they were not able to speak English. However, the room (Tower) where I stayed the first night was nice and clean.

Very happy with this hotel, was very comfortable and close to everything.

First time in Bangkok and it was great to have such nice people with a smile to give you service when you needed directions.

Although we were dissatisfied with the bathroom facilities, this hotel is a good inexpensive hotel.

It was very good for the price, the food was good, great choices for breakfast. Transport was no problem. This hotel was fully booked and did an excellent job catering for the diversity of people staying there. We would definitely stay there again. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly, helpful staff; nicely situated, 5 minute walk for Skytrain. Excellent tour guide service.
