Everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Excellent staff, beautiful hotel, very spacious room, and an excellent restaurant. I would only recommend this hotel if you're going to have/rent a vehicle as it's a short drive into Dublin, but would be a much longer commute by bus or rail. I knocked room comfort rating as the beds were VERY firm, but everthing else was great (especially shower water pressure/temperature). This is a beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the ocean. I would definitely stay here again.
Very good Hotel. Attentive staff great location. Just a short walk to Dalkey village and Killiney beach. Lovely views from the hotel of Dublin Bay. The good weather also helped to make it an experience I want to repeat.
Excellent hotel - would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a short break.
Overall a very nice stay. I stayed on the 5th floor and it seems the room I had is showing its age - the carpet had bumps in it from wear, a couple of cracked floor tiles in the bathroom, holes in the net curtain on the window and the wallpaper seams were beginning to separate. At this point, no big deal but something certainly that will need attention before too long.
Booked to stay in hotel for two nights but hotel was so nice that my wife and myself stayed for one more night. The additional bonus that the hotel has is its location which gives access to 1. Beach 2. Short distance from Dalkey village to shop and eat 3. Beside Killiney Hill which is excellent for a walk
This was a fantastic place to stay , wonderful views from the hotel . We were close to several lovely beaches. The hotel was lovely, big rooms, very clean , lots of space. Great big seating area in lounge with bar and with loads of room . Swimming pool very inviting and not always full of kids, different sessions which was good. Two restaurants on site, both great. Very pleased with stay here would certainly recommend.
All of the benefits of a large hotel with the friendliness of a smaller family run establishment
Very Good hotel all round. Dungeon restaurant very good. Service and standards very good. Bar prices fair and quality of beer good. Cocktails in the main very good although a little pricey. Some bar-staff a bit inconsistent in their prep of cocktails. However, i'll definitely be back.
Excellent and friendly staff from arrival to departure. Great buzz in hotel although relaxing at the same time. Many international guests which added to the enjoyment. Nice touches during stay including mints left on the bed in the evening. Although facilities to make tea and coffee were available in the room, some bottled water would have been welcome. Will recommend
This hotel is a very stylish hotel from the outside and also the main facilities downstairs. The rooms on the other hand in my opinion are not up to 4* standard. We were upgraded to an executive double room with no air con in a smoking room which I think is essential. Windows opened to about 2 inches which let in very little ventilation. The room itself was big and spacious and very dreary. Lots of space but lacked finishing touches like drinking glasses, clock, slippers, evening change of towels etc. No remote control for tv on arrival though one was delivered when I contacted reception. Shower curtain in bathroom was stained with dried sick which was'nt very nice to look at each time you entered the bathroom. With all the negatives the staff were really nice and friendly and the reception and lounge area were very tastefully decorated. Overall for the bedrooms, I would say a good overhauling was needed.
receptionist was ill informed about simple matters eg restaurant info and where to get information eg map of the immediate area. The staff were in the main not Irish and lacked the friendly helpful manner experienced in hotels in Kinsale, Killarney, Waterford and Galway,
A really lovely hotel with excellent facilities and fabulous location. My only complaint would be a small one. One of the bed side lamps was not working and I reported it. But it was not repaired during our stay. Otherwise a great stay. Friendly and helpful staff. I'd recommend it as a great base when staying in Dublin. The DART station is a short walk away. Overall my wife and I had a lovely time and will be back to this hotel again.
For a large hotel this had a very warm and friendly atmosphere with large bedrooms. Despite being extremely busy (St Patrick's weekend) the staff were extremely pleasent and helpful. The buffet breakfasts are 5 star and amongst the best you get anywhere in the world.
Just like home!!!!!!
The hotel is particularly convenient if you are arriving in Dublin by ferry (via Dun Laoghaire)as it's just a short drive up the coast. Rooms lovely (including built in ironing boards!)& service exceptional. My only pathetic moan was that the only UK radio station you could get was radio 1 but if that's my only 'complaint' it must be good! Short walk down the hill to Dalkey which has lots of good pubs & places to eat. Great place
Full of character! A real Irish gem!
