Very modern look and comfortable. Near Central Station and Damrak Street. Foods stall everywhere walking distance.
Concerns - when one travels with luggage, to get it into this hotel and up to the room its hard without a ramp or assistance. Basic needs not really met. However the location was great and the price sort of OK...had much better value elsewhere before. Suppose we would stay again given the location.
Good hotel for one night stay. Near Central Station, free internet.
This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It has been refurbished since our last visit which made a great improvement as was very basic before. We went as a party of 5 taking up 3 rooms, two of our rooms were of very high standard but the third one was very basic. we were a little dissapointed at that but overall it was a great hotel with a fabulous location and we would deffinately stay there again. The breakfast arrangements next door worked realy well, big improvement on our last visit.
Below average quality overall, but for the price in the centre of Amsterdam OK for a short stay. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Nice hotel close to train station, our room overlooked canal, would stay again.
It may be that we didn't now what to expect, but we found the room and the hotel very basic for the price we paid. It does not warrant the three star rating - two and a half perhaps. Very small room. Staff quite helpful.
Location was very good for us and it was easy to walk around and go to train station. Hotel wasn´t so special but we just stayed one night there. Price was too high. It was funny to eat breakfast in nearest pub.
The staff were extremeley helpful and the location is brilliant for the price! If one thing sticks in my mind it would be the amazing pillows. Best night sleep in a while!
Desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Single room was rather small. Bathroom adequate and clean . Utility hotel with no frills eg no pay TV , no bottle of water, no laundry bag. Internet offered at Euros 4.00 per hour - only one terminal available. Very handy location - but street outside can be somewhat noisy i8n evenings with
A good 3 stars hotel, very close to the central station. Good service. I shall come back.
We have a verry god stay and the France Hotel offers their guests many services to make the best of their stay and The hotel has a 24-hour reception. the staff was verry helpful. We vli like and come bach again.
Very close to Centale Train Station and Red Light.
The hotel is situated very close to Central Station and to the red light district. Breakfast is served in the pub next door as there are no dining facilities in the hotel. The price was 130 Euro per night which included breakfast. The room was clean and fairly basic.
For the price paid, this hotel is pretty much faultless: central location, surprisingly quiet, good service and facilities, clean...just don't expect a palace and you won't be disappointed. Only problem with our stay was a lack of natural light in our room.
In the morning the hotwater supply cannot keep up with demand and the water is too cold for baths.
Excellent hotel in terms of position, friendliness of staff, facilities (lift, tea & coffee making in room) and position - 300 metres fron Central Station. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Amsterdam. Not sure of price as booked through a 3rd party.
After I booked this, I was disconcerted to read a number of very negative reviews on a website. I didn't find these justified. The Hotel, while nothing special, was clean, facilities were perfectly adequate, and I had no problems.
For low cost, no frills basic accommodation, the France was fine. The staff are really lovely and helpful.
I wont fault this hotel and would certainly stay ther again, it is well located and not too busy, easy walking distance to anywhere popular and the walls in the bedrooms because i never heard any other sounds LOL!! Worth a look!!
