Flower Inn China Westlake Hangzhou

Unless you want to be in the middle of tea country with little accessibility by taxi and bus then its perhaps better to book elsewhere east of West Lake. We were advised to take a bus into the city but the buses and cabs were too unreliable. The facilities and service is good, but it more or less resembles more of a travel lodge/hostel than a hotel.

The don't speak english, the water broke and it took ages to fix, they left the window open in the rooms and were freezing! small rooms, clean but very very cold floors, good chinese breakfasts.

Conveniently located, only short distance to city center by taxi which is easily available. Friendly and helpful staff but not good in English/ Set in beautiful and quiet environment by the lake. Recomended for a quiet abd relaxing stay away from hussle and bussle of city life.

The actual Inn is very clean and well presented. The rooms are clean with all facilities you would expect in a 3 star. We did book the most expensive $59USD a night a deluxe room. It was an attic room made of cedar wood with a full bathroom, other rooms have shower and toilet only and are much smaller. The only challenge for us was that it was on the third floor up very steep and uneven stairs and we had our 2 yr old with us. The staff speak no English at all and this made even getting taxis difficult. They weren't sure about our online booking prices and wanted to charge us more. The breakfast is very Chinese, with no coffee! SO if you like dumplings, hot Tang, and oily greasy food for breakfast you will like it. One morning was enough for us, as our stomachs aren't quite adjusted. Overall I would give it a 5/10 for families and a 7/10 for singles or couples without children. It does give you a more authentic Chinese experience.

This is a lovely hotel in a perfect setting if you are looking for a hotel which is outside of the city. It is about a 10min taxi ride from the city and walking distance to all of the beautiful sites around west lake. The staff do not speak English at this hotel and there are no western restaurants in this area. We are only able to speak a few words of Mandarin but the staff were extremly helpful- we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back!

A lovely, peaceful location by Fower Lake with a nice walking area. Dogs barking at night could keep you awake. Nice enough service, but no English so a bit of a struggle communicating needs. The room was nice. The breakfast was basic, Chinese style which meant hot orange juice and no morning coffee.
