Formule 1 Hotel Melbourne

Basic but perfectly adequate. The room was clean and quiet, fairly small but suited our purposes. We had an 8hour layover from an international flight to our connecting domestic so we just wanted to have a shower and rest up. We even arrived early in the morning and they accomodated us instead of waiting for the 2pm check-in. There was a tv, alarm clock and heating unit in the room, spare blanket on the top bunk if you needed it. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. While the services aren't in your room they appear to have most things like coin operated internet, breakfast room, laundry & ironing room & vending machines. Bed comfortable with clean linen. Fantastic location!! There is Subway and a convenience store right downstairs & a Hudsons Coffee across the road, Coles Express on the next block. Its about 2mins walk to the mall. Definitely a good place to stay for a layover or if you're just doing a quick trip down for the theatre or a shopping weekend.

Good central location. Had to make our own beds and the blanket provision was a bit light on.

Location is its best-selling pt - right at CBD. Rooms are clean and comfortable. However, some minor features are missing. No fridge in room. No free wi-fi in room nor lobby. Though room is serviced daily, the bed is made up only once in 3 days - what a strange housekeeping policy. Had to pay $5 for locker service, something other Formule 1 motels provide for free. Overall, good value for money. Will consider staying there in future.

Budget Hotel with good location near train station and eateries. The room is clean and very basic with bathroom and TV but no phone and alarm clock.

The hotel is clean and well located. There is a problem with the lifts so it can ages to move. There was also a shortage of lockers to use if you arrive prior to check time or for storing luggage after check out.

We stayed 6 nites, hotel should vacuum the room at least every other day. The shower area should have hook for guest to hang towel. Overall the hotel is still worth to stay in as the location is fantastic.

We stayed for 6 nights however there is no daily room make up..they only changed the bath towels.

A place that really serves it's purpose. If you're just after a place to sleep an that's all then this is the place for you.

Cheap and cheerful, basic rooms, but in a good location

the location of this hotel is very good. and the price was not expensive. I think it will be a good choice for student or young family.

The room was clean however lack of soundproofing almost made us change hotels. Security should be improved.

Very clean tidy hotel. Very good Security as well. You don't have to waste money on taxi's or trams as it is right in the city center every thing is within walking distance. It is also around the corner from the city circle tram with runs for free. highly recommended =)

Before i go there, the comments is mostly negative about the hotel, but since it is cheap, so i still choose this hotel to meet my budget. It is to my surprise that this hotel is beyond my expectation during my stay, it is quiet, good ambient, i saw the receptionist warned the noise making people at the lobby, which i think it was good and maybe the hotel also see the comments of others and want to keep the place reputation good. And a plus, the hotel is in the middle of the city, easy access to most of the places, which i like it very much. The room is clean too, i have no complaint but would like to praise the service and environment. Will definately recommend to friends and will stay there again next time.

Good location for a cheap stay, close to shopping and trams. Hall way traffic can be heard in rooms but that was relatively quiet after 10. Beding was very clean however shower could have been cleaner if vent was cleaned and finger prints removed from walls. The feeling of the Hotel would have been better it staff had been friendlier when checking in, however the staff member who checked me out was very nice.

Clean room but very small and dark. Enough for a few nights if you want to save money and stay in the middle of the city.

A well sited hotel. Ideal if you are using the room just to sleep in as they are quite cramped. Disappointed you have to pay to store cases if you arrive early, but other than that all good. Would definitely use again.
