Fosshótel Reykholt is a 3 star cultural theme hotel, based on Icelandic literature, Norse mythology and classical music. This Tourist Class hotel includes a restaurant, bar, library, TV & internet lounge, front desk, conference rooms for up to 150 persons and parking. The hotel offers standard rooms with private bathroom, shower, TV and free wireless internet connection.
This hotel is ideal for guests that like to relax in the countryside, enjoy reading, writing and are interested in extending their knowledge of Icelandic cultural heritage.
Reykholt was home of Snorri Sturluson, Iceland’s greatest Saga writer, poet and historian. Reykholt is still one of Iceland’s main historical and cultural sites. Here you will find two beautiful churches, Snorri’s natural hot pool, Snorralaug, Heimskringla and Snorrastofa, an exhibit of Snorri’s writings and a research centre for medieval studies. In the park is a statue of Snorri by the Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Archaeological excavations are carried out on site by the National Museum of Iceland.
Just a few minutes drive from Reykholt are the waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, Europe's most powerful hot spring, Deildatunguhver, and several lava tubes and caves. Snow mobile tours are available on the glacier Langjökull.
Reykholt is located in the area called Borgarfjörður in West Iceland, less then 90 minutes drive from Reykjavík.

BUS:Trex bus runs from BSI bus terminal . Please contact Trex bus or BSI bus terminal for schedule.
CAR:Drive road no.1 from Reykjavik, go through under-sea tunnel and turn right at the exit of the tunnel. Before reaching Borgarness, turn right at the bridge. You will see a white&red church tower and Fosshotel Reykholt is in behind the church. Approximately 1.5-2.0 drive from Reykjavik.
