Fountainside Hotel Hobart

Great rooms recently renovated, staff are very friendly and willing to help. Ideally located close to town and harbour and dining. Very good value for money.

Our rating is in line with the price we paid. We will definitely stay there again. Service and support was good. Value for money regarding accomodation and especially the food was excellent value. Central to walk around Hobart or hop on a motorway and we could park on site for nothing. Being recently retired now we consider pricing as in the past it didnt come into consideration. I admit we were a little hesitant before arriving because of the value we paid then we were so impressed by the end of our stay we told the manager. We have lived overseas for 14 years and travelled all over the world. This hotel was the best all round for value, for cleanliness, restaurant value for money and location. Always my hotel of preference in Hobart. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, rooms are modern, spacious and bright, and restaurant offers great food and wine at very reasonable prices. Only 'slight' criticism is the very slow lift but maybe this also adds to its charm !

With the exception of one abrasive (female) person at the front desk ,who obviously misunderstood the function of Customer Service , Excellent.

Nice hotel, didn't really hear much noise from the round-a-bout below. Helpful staff. Short walk to waterfront and salamanca markets down an alley way before getting to a main road...a little creepy a night but okay otherwise.

Excellent value. I also recommend the restaurant, good food at very reasonable prices.

Our stay at the Fountainside Hotel was AAA+++bsolutely wonderful!! We were on the first floor and did not experience excessive noise from the round-a-bout at all. We got a really good deal on our room which was warm and cosy upon arrival, comfy and spacious, the mini bar prices so reasonable and the meals - breakfast and dinner - were exceptional value and delicious. The staff were friendly and obliging - very happy to help. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night! Our second night in Hobart had to be spent in another 'Chain Hotel' and it didn't compare at all. The Fountainside is highly recommended to all.

The hotel is very clean, all the facilities are good although I think if the hotel could offer free Wi-Fi in each room, that'd make this a perfect hotel for a weekend stay. Also lacking are bathrobes and indoors slippers. Location is good, if you're driving into town from the airport, you won't miss the hotel as there's a big sign "HOTEL" facing the freeway. Personally I don't mind this sign but my friends think it makes it look cheap! :) The pricing is good & I think it's reasonable. Bed is very comfortable & the LCD TV is also a good feature. I'd go back and stay there again.

This is the second time I've been in this hotel. In general it's good. But I feel that the mattress is actually a bit soft for me. I still like the toilet, quite modern and clean.

Great Location, I was disappointed with the reception area looked dated but plesantly surprised with the room.

Great place to stay, 2 minute walk to Hobart City or Salamanca

We found the hotel to be in a good location both to the city and wharf area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is good, finally someone has the sense to put the shower taps near where you step into the shower and not under the shower head where you get wet trying to adjust the water flow/temperature.

Very impressed with renovated rooms and 'value for money' dining and beverages. Excellent service. Programmed upgrades to lift and lobby(Mid 2009) will add even more value. Walking distance to Salamanca Place, close to CBD and adjacent to main highway to airport and Launceston etc

Good clean hotel, very friendly staff, great bar prices

Close to waterfront disrict this is a very convenient hotel to see all the sights. Mini bar and restaurant prices very good value.

Good location and the full breakfast ($10 to guests) is also great value.

Welcome on arrival was refreshing and informative. Interaction with front desk for directions was concise and pleasant, whoever was on duty. Easy walk to the docks and historic Hobart. Comfortable suite, wonderful massage shower, thankyou, we'd visit again.

Good location near downtown and market

Excellent hotel in all respects,unconditionally recommend.
