nice & close to port arthur & the meals there are the best value in Tassie.
Beautiful room with great water views. Dinner was delicious and a perfect size for a big appetite.
A lovely warm room with a Double size bed or 2 single beds (please request single beds when booking if required as a sofa bed is available in the room). Tea & Coffee facilitys provided in all rooms. Lovely water veiws.
Best food we had in all of Tasmania. Staff were nothing but helpful and polite. Great position. The only let down was the lack of water pressure in the shower - minor issue in the big scheme of things.
Good place to stay - great restaurant with hearty meals after a day exploring. Tennis court needs attention. Shower in bathroom ordinary.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent very friendly we will go back again
Meal while taste ok bit burnt. Other meal not as shown on menu. Missing bits and cold.
A better selection of cooked breakfast would be nice. A larger lounge bar would be nice too. Other than that a very satisfactory stay. Will go again.
Thought the hotel room was very clean but thought more care could be taken in the grounds of the Hotel eg. pool is no longer used and is left to accumulate leaves etc...looks very unprofessional!! If the pool is no longer used ...fill it in!!! The room as I said was clean but there was a gap under the door and the curtain was peeling away from it's backing. When we checked out the receptionist didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our stay!!!
heater is not hot enough, freezing night
It was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and big with lovely views. The restaurant was pretty good as well, especially important since it was so difficult finding food to eat in the vicinity. It was very near the historic site as well.
We were very happy with our stay at the Fox & Hounds. The facilities are aging somewhat but everything worked and the place was clean and pleasant.
Meals in the restruant were large , tasty and well priced, with very friendly service.
My husband and I were very pleased with the facilities at the Fox & Hounds and would fully recommend the Hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Port Arthur area. Our evening meal was made of fresh ingredients and very enjoyable - one of the best meals served to us in Tasmania. We enjoyed our stay in a very tranquill setting.
With no food or restaurants open for Xmas day, in the area, the platter of cold meats supplied by the hotel for guests was much appreciated.
Nice staff and good service. Best hotel in term of location if going to the historic site (prison visit and ghost tour).
Only a few minutes from Port Arthur.
Although getting a little older this Inn was an enjoyable stay. It was clean & affordable and the breakfast that was part of the package made this very good value. We also ate dinner in the restuarant and were very satisfied with the both the service and the food.
The hotel has a good restuarant and the area has little other choices within reasonable travel distance. The hotel is only a short drive to the Port Arthur historic site and arriving early allows entry to the car parking nearest the entry point.
A very nice restaurant, we had a fantastic dinner here.
Beautiful setting with lovely views from our room at a reasonable price. would definately come back to stay!
