Fragrance Hotel Ruby Singapore

the location was just a 5 minute walk to MRT. lots of food outlets in the area open 24 hours a day. the corner stand is where prostitutes wait for customers but they do not bother us and the hotel accomodations were just perfect for its price. we plan to go back next year and still stay at the same Ruby hotel. I went out 2 a.m to buy food and no one bothers me nor my sister when she went out in the middle of the night.we highly recommend the place if your not particular with surrounding appearnces.

Perfectly satisfactory budget option. 'Working girls' do not give any trouble nearby. Nor did other guests. Sure it is a small room but aircon works well and I had a reasonable sleep. Hotel is safe.

Considering the price, the hotel is good for budget-tight tourists.

A good hotel for value for money, close to eating and local shops and the overall area is no problem. Friendly and helpfull travel desk in the hotel, Only fifteen mins by bus No 7 to Orchard Rd.

The hotel is very good in terms of accommodation fee (budget hotel); also very good service in cleaning and providing free coffee and water everyday. The location is also near to the Aljunied Station.

The rooms are too small but OK for the price I suppose. For a budget hotel I believe it would be average for a country like Singapore.

Location Location Location: No restaurant not a problem as it is surrounded by restaurants of all nations within a 2 min walk in any direction. Located in the so called Red Light district you feel safe walking around at night and do not get approached unless you you encourage it. Bus stop almost at the front door and the MRT within a 10min walk getting around is a breeze. The Staff were fantastic nothing was a problem and always ready to assist. Whilst the room is clean it is showing many years of wear and tear and could do with a good face lift inside and out, As for the price it is hard to get better in the area or any where else in Singapore without paying 3 or 4 times the rate charged here. Not suggested for the family or prudish type but value for money.

A very basic hotel with a very small room. The plastic mattress cover is a clear indication that rooms are rented by the hour. There was not much "action" around the red light district at this time. The taxi driver told us most have been picked up by the police. A decent place for a nights sleep and within walking distance to the MRT. Taxis were easy to get.

Location in term of transportation is great. Bus service is very near; just walk out to the main road. The MRT is just a 10mins walk. Food isn t a problem too. But..... the entrance lane to the Hotel looks like a war zone everynight. Definitely not for the family or light hearted.

I always stay in this hotel when I visit Singapore. Cheap, convenient location to food and transport. It is in the red light district so I cant recommend it to families but they dont pose a problem.

loverly hotel reception not sell even drinks in fridge in foyer but fantastic food at food halls in same street cleaners very friendly helpful just checkin dont ask for anything from front desk you will return everytime holiday ruined if talk to reception staff hotel safe and clean

Definately for the single or more adventurist traveller location in seedy red light area.A "short time" hotel streets lined with prostitutes at the lower end of the scale. However very clean,cheap,friendly staff and some good resturants in easy walking distance.However not for family unless you want to further the kids education!

Although hotel is located at "Red light" area in Singapore but is safe to stay. Is worth to stay in term of money. A lot of foods stall, coffee shop, 7-11 surrounding. And most impotant is near MRT.

I travel through Singapore about 16 times per year and always stay in Geylang as it is easy to get to and from the airport or ferry terminal in a taxi. Mostly I have stayed at [another hotel] in Lorong 8 but decided to try the Fragrance Ruby Hotel in lorong 20 Geylang. The sheets and pillow cases are much nicer as they're starched. Will now be staying in Ruby for future trips.

Everything's good except for my bathroom's water heater is broken. Thye let me use bathrooms of other rooms instead.

Given the extremely cheap price, the small room with very quiet air conditioning was excellent. The staff gave me my wake up call as promised. Don't be put off by this hotel being in a red light district. You will not be hassled in any way shape or form. Singapore is very safe. I have stayed at this hotel with rooms on both sides. The glazing seems thick enough to almost obliterate street noise. All up, very good value for money and easily accessible from Changi Airport via train for a bargain price of under SGD$2 each way to Aljunied MRT station, then about a six minute walk, crossing Sims Road, and walking south down to Geylang Road. Lorong 20 is first lane walking west along Geylang Road.

Fairly clean but tiny room and limited facilities aren't compensated for by the low price. Staff were friendly and accommodating but the location and nature of the rooms means I wouldn't stay there again.

The room was small and there was little space for a suitcase. All the basics were there. I did not find the staff particularly helpful or even interested. The area is certainly a red light hang out, but you can ignore them easily enough. Good price for Singapore.

Nice enough hotel for an overnight stay in Singapore. Plenty of good food nearby. Close to MRT station.

RUBY is a very good budget hotel
