Francois 1Er Hotel La Rochelle

"The hotel has a good location and is pretty from the outside, with the inner courtyard. However I felt that the hotel needs a lot of renovation. At one point I came down a steep staircase, held on the to the bannister knob and it came away in my hand, this could have dangerous as there was another steep staircase going down. The rooms that my party occupied (superior doubles) were not to my mind, superior for the price we paid and they were very noisey. We could hear other guests in other rooms, two rooms away from ours talking slightly loud, but however we could hear them clearly!! Our bathroom door did not close correctly, had no handle on the inside and neither did our so-called wardrobe. Some of the furniture in our rooms were broken and needed throwing away. The pictures on their website, particularly of the bedrooms, does not match what I saw. There are better hotels in La Rochelle, which are cheaper like the Ibis Vieux Ville. " - Anonymous

"The hotel was extremely clean and well-decorated. Although my room was small it was very comfortable and plush. The bathroom was also very nice. The staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely go back." - Anonymous
