Friendship Hotel Hangzhou

The staffs are extremely helpful and friendly eventhough they speak little English. The room is tastefully designed. Overall experience was pleasant.

Members of staff are polite and friendly. The room size and room rate is reasonable. I like this hotel because it just takes about 10 mins walk to West Lake and 5 mins taxi to train station.

Beautiful and spacious room, nice design, with see-through glass wall between bathroom and bedroom, though you can pull a curtain to cover it for those who do not want others to see you bathing naked. Did not try the breakfast as its not included and the original location at the high floor is closed due to renovation. Breakfast is now relocated to the second floor temporarily for 6 months I think. This means you will not get a nice view of the West Lake, as commented by others in their earlier stay Free cable broadband access is available but on the second day, there's suddenly no internet connection.

The location is great, only 3 short blocks to the West Lake where the water fountain show starts. The 18th floor dinner buffet is great. A lot of made to order dishes but make sure you order ahead of time so you don't have to wait too long. Buffet breakfast that was included was just ok. We like our lakeview room on the 17th floor a lot. The room is comfortable and clean. Bathroom is clean except maybe they can change the shower curtain as it smells a bit. Overall, we would stay here again.

This hotel was really nice. The staff were really helpful and able to assist us with our enquiries, many of the staff were able to speak reasonable english. The only thing that was not really good was that the mattresses were very firm, but that is typical for most hotels in China. The breakfast was great with really good choices.

Would recommend this hotel. Restaurant staff in revolving restaurant were excellent. Stayed during opening ceremonies of Olympics, was great. Beautiful room, nice view, small issue with reservation solved quickly. No issues at all

We were very happy with the hotel. The location is convenient to the West Lake and although it is not on the lake, it is a quick walk. The only observation/complaint would be the comment that they have a Western breakfast. While you can get omelettes made to order, it is definitely a Chinese breakfast. It was good but not what we had expected/hoped.
