FuramaXclusive Sathorn Silom Bangkok Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

The pool is nice and quiet. The room is great with nice bath room.

4.6 out of 5

Apart from a minor issue with water from the bath spilling onto the floor of the bathroom the Furama had everything we could hope for. Air-con that worked well, good sized room, balcony, cable TV, complementary bottled water, mini-bar that didn't require a bank loan to use, excellent cooked breakfast included in the cost, free wireless internet that worked OK in the room. It was very close to the skytrain station but we needed directions to find the back street where the entrance was when we first arrived.

The service from all staff except housekeeping was great. The housekeeping made many mistakes including entering our room one morning while I was naked, removing amenities from the room & not replacing them and also were not so friendly. The included buffet breakfast with eggs cooked ala minute was great and even though i am on a special diet there was plenty for me to eat. Bad points: the rooms are large & well appointed with small kitchenette, stereo/DVD player and sofa, however the lighting is poor and not controlled easily from any one location. The high bath tub is dangerous and not easy to climb into. After showering the water leaks over the floor. Pool & gym with leafy garden is nice however building work nearby make it is noisy if you choose to sun bake or swim. 5 minutes walk to the Chong Nonsi BTS station is convenient. Overall for the price & the service is great & hotel has the facilities and inclusions such as breakfast & wireless internet which made it comfortable.

We arrived at Furama to welcome drinks and the news that our booking had been cancelled by our booking agent with no explanation to us. The staff at Furama were extremely helpful in a difficult situation. Providing overseas telephone assistance and use of their internet service to clarify and rebook our accomodation. We were upgraded to a suite and enjoyed a wonderful stay at Furama.

This is my third review of the Unico Grande Sathorn hotel - I think. Like all my stays at this place and as with my past review(s) I have nothing to whine about and I would highly recommend this hotel. For the Bangkok location and level of comfort this hotel offers, it represents excellent value at around $70AUD odd for a night's accommodation (no breakfast). The staff are superstars and are exceptionally friendly. I find them courteous, friendly and professional, yet all offer that personal touch and give a genuine snile and personal greeting. The rooms have proper kitchens with microwaves, hotplates, kitchen sink, etc - although why would you need that when there are restaurants, cafes and street markets all nearby. Great place, great location, great staff, great price. GREAT!!

I have stayed at FuramaXclusive (Unico Sathorn) 5 times now. I would not stay anywhere else. Close for SkyTrain, Shopping, Nightlife, Supermarket, DEpartment Store, Restaurants, Cafes, Night Markets. But not only that, the [website] rates are the best value around for a 4Star hotel (my rating) with exceptional staff that always greet you personally by name and with a big smile - a personal touch that only a smaller boutique hotel can offer. Negatives: Shower always drowns the bathroom because of a lower bath surround (but I can cope with that and mop up the mess with a towel or two).

Hotel is very nice and 3 blocks away from the MRT station. Services in general was good. The always smaling girls at the main desk needs to learn who to go the extra mile to help customers. But over all the place is good, just make sure your confirmation number is neatly printed and realy clear for when you arrive at the check in counter...

Slightly hard to find location in the soi, take the Thai map and phone number in case your taxi driver gets lost. Near enough to Silom Road, Skytrain and amenities. Friendly staff, and this place you have no problem to come and go or bring your guest to the room. Good for single traveller.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Unico Grande Sathorn. I liked that it was located on a soi and not a main road - it was quiet and I got to experience soi life, which in the many trips I've made to Thailand, I never got to see much of (I never went down sois if I didn't have to). My only complaint was about my room, in which the air-con was noisy and the shower seemed to either be too hot or too cold, but I could never get it to be just warm. I should have complained and asked to be switched to another room. I got to see another room through another guest I befriended and found that not all of the air-conditioners are as noisy as the one in my room was. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was terrific, breakfast was great, location was very convenient and the massage place on site was a really nice touch.

Toilet is too small, and drainage system is not well designed. Water flows everywhere after a shower.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. Only complaint was the internet.... while it was free, it was so slow that it really wasn't useable. And unless you want to pay for them, don't take the slippers. As others have said, taxi drivers have a hard time finding the place. And if you are traveling by taxi from the international airport the cost is 400B if you book outside at the taxi stand... 1200B if you book with one of the rip-off guys inside the terminal.

Very stylish hotel with urban feel, smallish (but atmospheric and large enough) pool, impeccable service, good breakfast buffet (western *and* asian), newspapers and free internet access, very well situated only a few minutes from the Chong Nonsi skytrain station. There's a lively market around the back during weekdays. I look forward to staying at this hotel again next time I will be in Bangkok. The two times we took a taxi, the driver had no problem at all. The clientele consisted mainly of couples (hetero and gay), and appeared to be of the culturally interested type. I wish to relate an incident that epitomizes the hotel for me: when leaving the hotel for a few days, we discovered a few hours after check-out that we had forgotten some edible presents in the refrigerator. The manager - after ascertaining that those had been throw away by the cleaning staff - graciously replaced them upon our return a few days later with other local sweets of comparable value.

location of this hotel is ideal. close to Patpong market and the Silom Road and also the Sky train. It is down a side street however it is well lit and, in my opinion, safe. I would recommend this place in terms of location, quality of room and service. the only downside? i thought the pool was small.

Very good hotel & friendly staff, but they really need to get the info out to the taxi drivers. Out of 11 drivers only one found the way.
